One of my favorite bars to visit in Fargo. They have an excellent selection, but the bartenders are skilled and will
Make an off menu drink, if it’s not busy. Definitely worth visiting. Great atmosphere

Pretentious and overpriced.

Their version of hash browns is a frozen vegetable melody. The waffles are not made fresh. The hash was over cooked and flavorless. The coffee had an extremely off putting bitterness, and that says a lot coming from someone who drinks black coffee. The pancakes are from a box mix.

However, the atmosphere is lovely. Very warm and inviting. What an absolute waste of a restaurant. Turn it into a bar and shutdown the kitchen ASAP.

Decor uses sleek lines, local art, and open spaces

I always love coming to eat here. The food is consistently prepared well, the meat is alway cooked to requested temp, and we leave happy.

I started also bringing my son to teach him dining out and manners. They are always so nice.

Mid elementary school lunch at best, absolutely abhorrent pricing for what you’re getting. Just don’t.

Edit for response of owner: quite pathetic response. Unfortunately I was at your restaurant.

2nd edit for dm from owner: I know the difference between local 701 in West Fargo and your restaurant that I went to in Fargo. Please stop dming and telling me that I don’t know where I was eating. I live here. I spent $80 on the worst food I’ve ever had. I know where I was, stop trying to gaslight me into changing my review. You have 28 other one star reviews so clearly I’m not the only one who thinks this. Maybe work this hard on making your food better.

Ribeye steak was very good

The food was lackluster, but the environment and service was good.

Oh! Oh!! Where to begin?! 701 Prairie Kitchen is my favorite restaurant in Fargo! I have been there 5 times in the past 3 weeks. That's how impressed I am! And I am not easily impressed.
My mother was a chef, therefore I have an "educated palate" and Fine Dining is my favorite hobby.
The menu at 701 changes often, which is why I keep going back. So far I have enjoyed the beet salad, the pickle dip with veggies, a Caesar salad, the most recent salmon presentation (not yet updated on their online menu as I write) and it is by far my favorite! A perfectly cooked salmon filet with a bourbon fig glaze... Fig? Looked like fig... atop a bed of mashed but not quite puréed squash with roasted vegetables surrounding it and then topped with micro greens . The best salmon I've ever been served and I spent 4+ years dining in Seattle's finest restaurants! What surprised and delighted me as well was the presence of lefse on their menu! Wow! I was misty-eyed as childhood memories of my mother making lefse in our kitchen warmed my heart! LEFSE!! I ordered it to go as I was fully sated by the generous portions I'd been served. I also very highly recommend the JagerSchnitzel! Truly the best I've eaten! Cooked to crispy perfection, served on a bed of spaetzle, spot on texture, topped with mushroom thyme gravy I shall be craving for the rest of my life and likely never be able to re-create in my own kitchen! My only "complaint" is I would have enjoyed a larger side of braised cabbage. It was a "dollop". I did mention that to the bartender and he graciously offered to bring me more cabbage, but I was just commenting, not complaining and already very full. Hats off to Chef Avalon! I'm here in Fargo until mid February. So looking forward to many more culinary delights at 701!

Parking: Roomy parking lot, but fills up fast.

I got the schnitzel sandwich and had to triple check it was the gluten free version because it was DELICIOUS! Brussel sprouts are also wonderful. It’s so nice to have safe delicious gluten free food!

A friend sent us a link for 701 Eateries. I made a reservation for my wife and I for 7:30 on Saturday night. We arrived early and were able to have cocktails at the bar. Love the atmosphere and service at the bar was quick. We had cocktails and the Bacon wrapped dates .... Yum! We then moved to our table and started our dinner. Jerrica was very knowledgeable and answered our questions about the menu. My wife ordered the feature hot dish and I ordered the schnitzel. It did take a while for entrees to come out as we were behind a private party happening on the rooftop. They did let us know that was the case after we ordered so we weren't just left wondering. The only downside was my wife didn't get her salad until after her entree but everything was delicious. My plate was cool to the touch when it was delivered which is why my spaetzle was not hot. Otherwise all good. Thank you for a great evening to celebrate my wife's birthday!

Have been to Camp Lone Tree and Prairie Kitchen several times. Service and food were never consistent. Very cool building and idea, but we have sat there for over 2 hours to get food/drinks. Felt like we have given it a fair chance, we don’t plan on returning.

Nice atmosphere, server was very nice and friendly. Food was very flavorless. I ordered the prime rib dip and husband got the burger. The highlight of the meal was my side salad and the fries. They did blend up the vinaigrette though which made the consistency not like a vinaigrette.

Great food and good cocktails. I usually get the salmon or the swedish meatballs. The brunch here is very good. What prompts me to write this review is the 701 Sprouts. They have got to be the best brussels sprouts in the country. I love brussels sprouts and they have become very popular, so I frequently get them at restaurants. I recently went to several high end restaurants in LA and their brussels sprouts were not as good as this place. Please never take them off the menu!

Wife and I had the salmon and short rib stroganoff. Incredibly unimpressed. Salmon was mediocre, unseasoned though at least not over cooked, the rice it was served with was inedible. The short rib stroganoff was too fatty, almost felt sick after eating it , I would not recommend it. The gruyere fries were ok but under cooked and unseasoned. The beer cheese soup was probably the best part of the meal. I was also disappointed that despite being a North Dakota themed restaurant with several German food stuffs on the menu, the bar failed to carry an Octoberfest beer during Octoberfest. All in all I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, it is mediocre at best.
