I've been here twice in the last couple of months. Each time the workers were rude and unwelcoming.
I used to come to Babb’s regularly to get a cold beverage on warm summer days. I always had a good experience, until my most recent visit.
I hadn’t stopped in for quite a while, but I was in the area during the lunch hour. Upon entering, I was a bit put off by the loud vulgar rap music they had playing. The two gals working at this time were seated behind the counter very invested in their phones not even noticing that anyone had walked in. They seemed almost bothered by to take the order and make the drink. The only saving grace was that my drink was ready within a few moments, and I got out of there quickly.
The whole experience was uncomfortable. I don’t think I’ll be returning.
I gave this place a second chance after a terrible experience a couple of weeks ago, and I regret it—I will not be returning. While I’ve always appreciated the downtown vibe and eclectic atmosphere in the coffee shop, the service is consistently unwelcoming and unprofessional.
During my most recent visit, I stood waiting at the counter while the cashier chatted with another customer. As I waited, I overheard the customer expressing concern about a price. Rather than acknowledging the feedback politely (which is standard in any decent customer service environment), the cashier shrugged it off and responded rudely. She then drew another cashier’s attention and said, “Did you hear that lady?”—openly mocking the customer right in front of me.
To make matters worse, the second cashier responded with a barrage of profanity, including taking the Lord’s name in vain and dropping multiple F-bombs—again, all within earshot and before anyone had even acknowledged my presence.
On top of the terrible attitude, the speed of service is embarrassingly slow. There’s no urgency, no communication, and clearly no concern for how long customers are waiting for their orders.
This is not how you run a business. Downtown charm and aesthetic can only go so far when the staff creates such a hostile and careless environment.
Eclectic fun place for coffee and conversation. Breakfast was delicious.
My new favorite cafe! As a Seattleite struggling to find good coffee in the Midwest, this place ticks all my boxes: high quality coffee, made well, with delicious and huge pastries, in a comfortable and unique atmosphere. My husband and I got Americanos, banana bread, and a poppyseed scone - and everything was perfect! No notes!
Best espresso in Fargo, made properly on a beautiful old Italian machine! The barista is a real sweetheart, willing to listen to the blatherings of a degenerate old Lebenkünstler . 😁
Love this place!
Food was mediocre at best and very expensive. I get better bagel sandwiches in NYC for less money. Good coffee house atmosphere.
The chai latte I got here was one of the best I've ever had! Super cute space and great service!
No prices on anything. Super overpriced. Food was good but 60 dollars for what we ordered for two people was insane. If you're gonna have your menu on the wall, you need prices. Every little thing you add to your coffee is a dollar or more. 11 bucks to start out out with a large Chai latte Is outrageous. Everything tasted great but not worth the cost.
Great local coffee spot. Great treats. Knowledgeable staff. Awesome atmosphere. Highly recommend checking them out.

We waited over 40 min for 2 drip coffees and a fruit cup, and most of the fruit had turned. Some of the employees were pleasant, others were rude or completely apathetic. We watched multiple people just give up and walk out.

This is the place to chill, 'Easy like a Sunday morning' any day of the week! I never knew what that song meant till I visited Babb's! It's a great spot for spoiled office meetings. Homework. Reunions with friends. Your first stop before work. Lunch breaks. Meditation. Study mindfuly with a cup of tea. Write a paper or cram for the big exam, with the best coffee in your hand! Why? That's just whatcha gotta do! Great sandwiches, wraps, and desserts! Oh-my! The coffee is rocking real fine! I say, drop what you're overwhelmed about, Relax and chillax. Stressed? Shelve it... Here you're blessed!
Get yo'self a cup a peace served up regularly at Babb's, especially when you think you don't deserve it because, at Babb's, you always do! Sleepy? On the go? Need a break from monotonous toil? Need new friends? Here, the air is sweet with vintage coffeehouse vibes likened to the vintage of well a cultivated vineyard's choicest wine, only it's tailored by the best roasted bean of Dancing Goats, and tastes like Holy Spirit in a cup. There's a story to that, and I don't want to spoil your curiosity. You're just gonna have to find out for yourself. ;)
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and Vegan selections are satisfying!
Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten-free options are plenty!
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in and getting around. Tons of space, and the baristas are super helpful as well!
