Many restaurants prioritize quantity over quality. Not El Agave. The quality of the food was outstanding, the ingredients were fresh and the flavors were bold. We walked away very satisfied. It definitely hit the spot.

I tried to keep an open mind when trying mexican food in North Dakota. Lets just say that this is not authentic mexican food at all. Beans and rice do not taste authenticat all. Adding queso fresco and crema does not make it any better. Portions were horrible. I ordered chicken fajita and I had more grilled onions and bell pepper than chicken. Also I'm use to asking for salsa for my food and not being charged. They charged me for the salsa which is ridiculous. Also prices are ridiculous. Enchiladas do not come with rice and beans and have to be ordered separately. I paid $14 for 4 enchiladas sides not included. I should have known it wasn't authentic when I asked for homemade corn tortillas and all they had was from a package. If yall want some good authentic Mexican food, go to Texas. We don't charge for the salsa and ours isnt from a glass bottle!

El Agave is a great spot for authentic food with generous portions that really fill you up. The flavors were fresh and satisfying, and the service stood out — our waiter was very patient and attentive, even with our whole family dining together. For the price and quality, this is one of the better choices in Fargo. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for hearty, authentic dishes.
