Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant Veterans

My family and I have been a fan of Plaza Azteca since they opened in Fargo. We’ve been to both locations multiple times, the food is usually delicious and the wait staff have typically been kind. So it disappoints me to do this, but the treatment we received this past visit was very unprofessional. We were out celebrating my daughter’s birthday, who loves Plaza Azteca, and wanted to eat here before we headed over to the movies. My family (a party of 7) had called ahead. On the phone, we were met with the their usual kindness and the hostess informed me the wait for our party would be 15 minutes. As we walked in, we were told our wait would be a few more minutes, no big deal. As we waited, a few minutes turned into half an hour. The part that had us most upset, as we were waiting, a party of +10 people walked in. Our family was sitting near the hostess stand and could hear their conversation. The lady who spoke for the party hadn’t called ahead for a table to let the restaurant know of all these people were coming (they were also waiting for more people to arrive). While we were waiting for a table we called ahead for, this large party was sat within 5 minutes of their arrival. I did talk with the hostess, asking what the situation was, but she couldn’t really answer me, the manager came up as well and chatted with the hostess while I stood at the stand. He didn’t say a word to me and walked away quickly. It was a Friday night, so we understood the long wait, however the larger party being sat right away and the treatment of the manager, that was too much for my family. Overall, this situation was strange and disappointing for my family. We usually love this restaurant, but now, I do not believe we will be back.

From the moment we walked in the servers were including our children and making it a super fun environment for them. So family friendly. The food was all 10/10. Recommend arroz con pollo, ribeye tacos, and the skinny marg. Beware, it's massive! The food was phenomenal, but I just need to reiterate how amazing the workers were, so great.

Asked to be seat outside as it was so busy that you couldn't hear any conversation inside. Too many onions used in all of their food. Wish the guacamole was served in a smaller amount. We had a party of 4 and felt that ordering the guacamole would be an over-kill with our meal orders being filling enough. Food overall was ok.

Visiting town for 1 night.

This place is upbeat with phenomenal food, one of my two favorite Mexican restaurants in town.

Awful service, finally had to go get our own plates and napkins, we were asked to switch tables mid meal to help them out while the server watched us pack everything up, never received my drink I ordered, food was mediocre at best. But ultimately just chaotic poor service. Will not be returning.
