Randy's University Diner

I went there to eat with my mom and neice, it was all good except our server was very poor with communication and only came to our table 1 time and then never came back. We then proceeded to ask for a to go box, and the gentleman working there named Ryan took my moms plate we wanted a to go box for he then proceeded to put her plate on the tray with everyone else’s dirty plates and boxes her food up then brought it back to us. My mom also has a tomato allergy and so when he put it on the tray that could have had tomato on it.

We use to love Randy’s but feel like the portions keep getting smaller and prices keep going up. They charge for every little thing - add pickles? .50 take our order? Additional .25 per item ordered. The photos are from our recent take out order that we were extremely disappointed by.

This is a dinner but not a greasy dinner. I didn't get pictures but the food was good. When we arrived they said about 10 minutes so we sat at the counter to be served right away. Weird I had to ask for a menu but it all worked out.
The server came and brought us waters asking if we wanted anything else to drink but instead we ordered our food.

I got the hamburger steak with lightly done hasbrowns and a GF Udi's chocolate chip muffin. It was good. The hasbrown were amazing very buttery.
Tip: the hamburger steak comes with eggs, even though it is not in the description.
Tip 2: the muffins are packaged up so if you want to take it with you tell them not to heat it up.

My partner had a side of hasbrowns with biscuits & gravy. He said the gravy seemed from a box and the biscuit were good but sweet.
Tip: the gravy does not have meat or sausage in it. Truly it is just gravy. Even the sausage and gravy was sausage patties on top of biscuits covered in gravy.

The cinnamon roll was GIANT. I did not have it but it looked good. They do use the microwave for heating up things like muffins, the syrup, frosting for the cinnamon roll, etc.

I would go back if we were in the area.

Randy's University Diner is one of the best breakfast diners around. Their staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. I deeply appreciate them and the great food every time!

Randy’s on university is my favorite restaurant in Fargo North Dakota. It has friendly staff you feel like your family the meals feel like their home cooked like you’re at your grandma and grandpa’s house and they’re making new stuff always down for Randy’s every day if I could.
