The beef bulgogi is great, the service is friendly, the restaurant was clean, and it was the first time I had flavorful miso soup from a restaurant.

Great place to eat at servers are nice
And kind and we're really fun to talk with.
The food was also pretty good.
I would say there's not too many bad options on the menu. I love the japanese and korean fusion of it. The servers were nice enough to take the time to explain the differences in the meals. Which is a big thing for this type of restaurant when you don't know a whole lot about it!

My friends and I have eaten here a few times and both the food and the service are amazing! Jin, the owner, was so helpful and so fun! I can't wait to go back.

I don't normally go out of my way to write reviews but I just had to when I ate here. The food is amazing, the fact that I was the only patron during lunchtime on a Saturday was an absolute tragedy. More people need to know about this place.

Soho 23 is a hidden gem in Fargo, blending Japanese and Korean flavors in a way that feels both comforting and creative. It makes sense when you think about it — Japanese cooking brings a precision and balance of flavors, while Korean cuisine leans into bold spices, marinades, and fermented sides. Together, the two traditions make for a fusion that’s hearty, vibrant, and fun to eat.

Everything we tried here was fantastic. The calamari was perfectly fried — light, crisp, and paired with sliced grilled peppers. The Yum sauce and garlic lime sauce each added their own twist and showed off the house-made attention to detail.

We had the pork belly thanks to a local tip (it’s not on the menu), and it was the star of the night. Thin strips of pork belly wrapped in lettuce with rice, ssamjang, and sesame oil sauce really hit the spot. The owner also brought out her own homemade kimchi, which added a zesty, tangy pop.

The sunomono (pickled cucumber dish) was crisp and refreshing, a perfect palate cleanser. The chicken katsu was golden, tender, and balanced beautifully with its sweet-savory sauce and Japanese curry — a dish that reminded me why katsu is such a beloved comfort food.

Even dessert was special: a green tea ice cream brûlée with a smoky caramelized crust, paired with a warm mochi cake fresh from the oven. Eating them together in one bite was a highlight — chewy and spongy mochi balanced with the delicate matcha and blueberries.

What sets Soho 23 apart is the owner herself. She cooks everything from scratch using family recipes, with no shortcuts, and it shows. You can taste the love and tradition in every dish. For Fargo, having a Korean-Japanese restaurant of this quality feels rare, and it’s absolutely worth seeking out.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch when we were on our way back from Canada to our home state of Iowa. We both had the miso soup as a starter. For our main dishes, I had the Chicken Hibachi with veggies and my wife had the Mochiko Chicken. The woman who served us was kind and friendly, the food was tasty and filling, and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Believe the hype you've heard about this restaurant. They have such delicious, fresh food in big portions and a diverse menu. I had the pork katsu happy bowl and added the Japanese curry (which was AWESOME with the rice) and my husband got the kung pao spaghetti (which is as spicy as advertised; he loved it). The miso that came with our meals was flavorful and tasty, too. The service was super friendly and our order came out quickly, too. All in all, we will absolutely be back and can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Friendly service. Knowledge about recommendations for first time diners. Continuously attentive to refilling beverages, taking dirty dishes etc... Would go back to try more.

My favorite restaurant in Fargo. The food is delicious — every dish is great but I especially love the dolsot bibimbap, the kimchi burger and the udon. The owner is so kind and welcoming and the staff are friendly and helpful. A truly lovely place!
