Fargo has been on my bucket list since I watched the movie ?. I drove around 3.5 hrs (trying very hard not to speed) and this place was one of the few places to be open late, which is strange because it’s on the NDSU campus. In any case, the kitchen closes at 10pm for all those who might wanna come out here in the wee hours of the morning.
It’s basically a campus "bar" or "pub" (depending on which side of the pond you are from!) and happens to have a kitchen. The menu looks awesome, however the ingredients are provided by Sysco - the factory food sourcing & supplying giant. I had the beef brisket and when I asked the server (Nikki?) where the beef was from (she didn’t know) she asked and told me Sysco. Unfortunately, I was mostly done with the meal and couldn’t eat the rest so back it went.
They do have a few nonalcoholic beers. No fancy brands (like we happen to have in QC).
I started to drive back at 10:10pm and was back in YWG by 2:00am-ish.

Yea it's pretty good. The atmosphere is great, a good dive with exactly what you want, including a single pool table, two dart boards, wood paneling, neon signs, and more. The service is also pretty top notch and they'll make sure your glass is filled. The front and back of the place are very different from one another and I'm sure this is intentional. Either way a good pit stop or a good place to spend Friday night right by campus. Way better atmosphere than Herd & Horns.
Vegetarian options: You'll have pretty limited options.
Dietary restrictions: Ask your server for specifics.
Parking: There's usually a good amount of parking around.
Kid-friendliness: There's karaoke on Saturday nights but aside from this, the place is a no-nonsense dive.
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible but may prove difficult getting through double doors.
Picked this joint for my first legal drink, went in and waiter Nolan wouldn’t accept my ID at a table with 3 others that are well of age, so I order a lemonade, and he walks past my empty drink 5 times excluding the times he was bringing out entrees. The time comes around to pay the bill and it’s about $70 (with a good tip) and i sat at the table for another 20 mins after I paid my bill. 9 o’clock rolls around and he comes and tried to remove me (not the party I was accompanied with) from the DINING area after I paid was waiting for my girlfriend that was in the bathroom. Super disappointed in this local bar and will not ever be returning.

Surprisingly tasty American eats.Bison burger was cooked well.Jalapeno poppers were the best I can remember.Sausage corn chowder, soup-of-the-day, also better than expected.It's an unglamorous looking bar next to a campus. Don't expect an epicurian adventure, or anything but sports on the TVs, but if you want well cooked simple foods it is great.

The Bison Turf is a Fargo institution, a classic college town bar and grill with a long and storied history.
