Went to the Watford City ND Smiling Moose and had a horrible experience. Walked in 20 minutes before closing and waited better than 5 minutes to make our order in an empty deli. Was asked if we were eating in or take out. We were going to dine in. The guy taking our order was decidedly unwelcoming and tried to make it seem they were doing us a favor. So we order and wait another 10 minutes for a chicken sandwich, a salad and 2 bowls of soup. While waiting in a booth one of their guys walks up with our food in a bag and informed us “the lobby was closed”. So asked “So we can’t eat here”? He informs us again the lobby is closed and stands there staring at us. So we leave.
Get out to our pickup and check our order. They sent us with 3 forks for our 2 cups of soup.(remember we ordered bowls of soup). So we go back in for spoons and get mean mugged for asking for spoons. My wife asked to speak with a manager and was told there is no manager on duty. On the way out one decides to stare at me the whole way so I stopped and told him what I thought about their pathetic customer service and asked who pays their wages? No answers but a stupid stare. We get out to the truck and open our soup. The soup was barely tepid and being educated in food safety we elected to avoid the highly likelihood the soup would give us food poisoning. At this point we are both angry enough that we decided to leave. We will tomorrow to inform them of the tepid soup and the one guy with an open wound on his face handling food.
Stay away from this establishment as it is dangerous with their improper food handling, staff with open wounds handling food, pathetic customer service and super expensive food.

What a wonderful lunch joint here in watford city! I was with my family as we were passing by the town, coming from the national park. My family enjoy all of our subs. I ordered the bbq bacon mo, and it might have been the best sandwich I’ve had in North Dakota! 5 stars!

We’ve been eating here for years and years. It’s always been questionable service, but the food is pretty good. Today was the straw with the terrible service. I ordered online at 10:00 am for noon pick up. I showed up at 11:56. They said they just started it. I ordered 2 kids meals. The only option online is juice or a milk. When I got there I asked if we could sub small fountain drinks instead. The first lady said yes. Handed me my cups. My order wasn’t don’t until 12:18. When I went to pick up my food from the front (because God forbid they bring it to the table I was waiting at) the lady asked if I paid for the drinks. I told her we got kids meals and they were included. She told me I couldn’t have my food until I paid for the drinks. So not only was my food very late (people only have so long for a lunch break) but I had to pay extra because some moody chick was on a power trip. I understand it’s hard to find help, but jeez…a little smidgeon of customer service can go a long way. It’s going to be a while before we go back.

The service here was great, it’s friendly attentive and helpful. Really enjoyable atmosphere. I got the Steakhouse Mo! And it is one of the best sandwiches I’ve had.
Kid-friendliness: I feel like I can take my kids here and they will know what they want and eat.
The sandwiches here taste amazing and the worker at the counter was very pleasant. All of the ingredients seem to be high quality. The prices aren't outrageous, about on par with Jersey Mike's. Look forward to visiting this place the next time I'm in Watford City.
