Pulled up to Bill’s Back 40 not entirely sure what I was walking into. The outside gives you that “this could go either way” energy. Like you’re about to step into a dive bar documentary. But here’s the thing — I’m glad I went in. Solid drinks. No nonsense pours. Bartenders who actually acknowledge your existence instead of treating you like a background character. Met a welder named Lil Jose who looked like he could TIG weld blindfolded and still have time to beat you at darts. Good dude. Oilfield stories, shop humor, the whole deal. Then the slots started talking. Next thing I know, I’m up $500 and pretending I always believed in that machine. The kind of win that makes your beer taste colder and your walk a little looser. Atmosphere? Classic Back 40. Friendly crowd. Blue-collar vibe. Zero pretension. Cute, friendly bar staff keeping things moving and making sure nobody’s glass sits empty too long.

The vibe never misses, the bartenders are always hot and the pizza is always perfect. Hands down one of the best dive bars in town. If you know, you know!

Walked into the bar hoping for a drink and was instantly met with hostility from the bartender. She asked for our IDs which we happily gave and was making jokes with my group and we were told by the bartender Betsy I believe that “we won’t be friends for tonight”. I get having a bad night but I just wanted one drink but she was being rude the whole time we were trying to order. We left before ordering a drink and she was happy and joyous to see us leave. I don’t leave a bad review but never once have I been treated so badly without even having a drink ordered and not even being at that bar in months. Won’t be returning again.

The manager is impossible to deal with. I could not handle working for her. She likes to pit the servers against each other and shes very vindictive. She will withhold drinks if you don't tip her enough. She threatens to reference 'the camers' for any misunderstanding.
When I first started coming here, I thought she was undergoing the transition from M to F. Turns out, shes only an F.

We were drinking 15 minutes before close and were told we could finish our beers than leave, when a random bouncer came out and snatched all our beers from our hands without words and slammed them on the table covering everyone in beer. He was rude and had no reason to act the way he did. Do not recommend going to this bar!

Betsy is very sweet we were in a a slow point in the day but can tell it's a jumping little juke joint with live music from time to time several pool tables and dart boards ,as well as a host of other interesting things to fiddle around with.

They do not have a card reader or tap-to-pay terminal! They have an atm that charges you 3 something to turn your crypto/digital assets into cash. I can mint 3 NFTs for 3$. This is not a problem but the terminal doesn't recognize Samsung Money by Sofi. Probably a software issue but extremely embarrassing to look like you have no money. Won't be going back until they can swipe bank cards or tap-to- pay!
