Wish you would use doordash. Would probably order every meal with you. Have been looking for a restaurant like yours, especially since you have liver and onions also!

I discovered the Special Restaurant just after it opened and it has been my favorite since then. All the food is wonderful and I always take a doggie bag because of the large helpings. Then, when you think it can't get any better, it does. The friendliness of everyone in the restaurant is overwhelming. I get here as often as possible! I almost forgot to mention how reasonable the prices are! OOPS, it just got better again!!!

I’m having a hard time with this review because I absolutely love the food, and on Sunday is when I have time to order from here, but for some odd reason they like to be closed on Sunday when they use to be open. It’s extremely annoying because it seems to have no rhyme or reason. My perspective is that Sunday is a money making day and a day during the week would be better to be closed, just like when they are closed on Mondays. To sum up, great food and service but don’t expect the place to be open when it seems they would be… Don’t fall in love with this place it will just piss you off.

Brianna is amazing, she was our waitress the first time we visited. She treated us like family and gave great suggestions. The food is crazy good, everything cooked fresh, always comes out hot and delicious. I wish they were a dinner place too lol but breakfast and lunch will have to do.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. It has beautiful wood work, seating at the bar and other table tops. Staff were very friendly, quick, and knowledgeable about the menu. It was great to visit with family, no loud music. Food is ordered off the menu. This is not modern but if you are interested in a speakeasy, this would be a great place

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere. Not much to say besidea that. Its a small mom and pop diner only open for a few hours. You get your moneys worth of food. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. A must stop of you want breakfast, lunch, or brunch!

We went on Saturday morning March 8. They were busy so we put our names on the list. There was going to be 4 of us but 2 people in our party were on their way. We waited 20 min and our other 2 were literally down the street. Our name was called and they refused to seat us because the other 2 were not in the restaurant right that min. They told us we had to go back on the waiting list behind the others. By the time we would have been taking our seats they would have been there. I assume this was so that their waitresses can make more money on turn around but whose to say if it was just the two of us that we wouldn't sit and chat and not rush our meal? Then they still wouldn't have the quick turn around. We left and took our business elsewhere and we will never go back there. If they are so concerned about turn around then maybe they should set timers at the tables! 😡 I felt it was poor customer service to refuse our business.

Love this place. Great food an old school atmosphere. Generally get the chicken fried steak which is great.
