I have heard about Jim and Connie bakery took the 35 minutes drive to eat some sweets and it was worth it. I brought a big apple fritter and my wife wanted to chocolate cookies.

When I lived in Dayton over 10 years ago, I had the best apple fritters that of ever tasted. Over the last decade, I have tried to find an apple fritter that even came close, even when I traveled, and I always failed. Until today. We got apple fritters and donuts from Jim and Connie’s this morning, and the apple fritters blew me away. They are now the best I’ve ever had. Soft and tasty apple chunks, crispy edges, just the right amount of warm glaze, and a soft, tender inside. Wow. We live about an hour away, and we’ll be back — a lot. Oh, and the donuts were amazing, too!

Been hearing good things about this place so decided to check it out myself.
Tiny little storefront but oh! the aroma!
Fantastic selection. I've never seen apple fritters this big. Got a dozen assorted and Connie added a dozen donut holes because it was my first time in.
Those donut holes were the lightest, fluffiest, donut holes I've ever had. Neutral flavor batter with a light glaze. Simply amazing.

Donuts are truly unmatched. Perfect fluffy texture and crispy on the edge. The service was great and attentive, the owners seem to be living their dream and make you feel so at home. I would recommend this place to anyone who can take 30 mins in the morning to come up from Omaha. They are cash only so make sure to stop at the ATM. Immaculate small town vibes, feels like you're stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting.

these are seriously the best donuts I’ve ever had. A very nice patient and their family brought our hospital unit donuts for the nurses & staff! It was such a treat! I never heard of this bakery before but I will definitely be going now! 11/10!

This is the definition of a hidden gem. It may not hold the highest standard to decor but the donuts are without a doubt the best you will find. Leave all that razzle dazzle icing and sprinkles at the door and get the best donuts around.

Mom and pop homemade doughnut shop and they are the best around
I got a crispie and 2 baked cinnamon rolls. Rolls were dry and frosting was skimpy. Came home and made my own frosting to add onto the rolls. My cashier had struggles boxing my items. I didn’t want the rolls squished on top of the crispie which was in a box. I asked for a sack. He placed rolls in the sack. That was better.

There aren't many places like this left in the US. It doesn't hurt that there are amazing donuts as well. Cash or check only in 2025 so be prepared. The glazing will also make the donuts last more than a full day which doesn't always happen with baked goods. The glaze doesn't turn into that liquid ooze like a cheap gas station donut. Incredibly delicious.
