The Frontier Frau is a German brewery and restaurant described as a hidden gem in the small town of Cozad, just off the highway. It is an amazing find and well worth the stop for great beer, great food, and standout service in an unexpected place. The atmosphere is great, with authentic decor and a Biergarten.
The handcrafted beer is excellent and brewed to perfection with authentic German crafts. Standouts include the Helles, Festbier, and Czech Pils. There are great options, including low-alcohol choices like the S’mores Radler, Lemon Radler, dunkel, and apple Sadler.
The food is awesome and absolutely delicious. Favorites include the pretzel with amazing beer cheese, the sweet and spicy pizza with arugula, a pizza with artichoke, sundried tomato, pesto, and feta on a cauliflower crust, and the pork belly sandwich. The German ham and cheese sandwich, daily soups like cheddar broccoli, and salads with feta and Dorothy Lynch dressing are also very good.
The service is phenomenal, sincere, attentive, and professional. The staff is friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and accommodating, creating a genuine and enjoyable atmosphere. It is an easy recommendation for anyone passing through or looking to experience something local.
