A Truly Unforgettable Experience — More Than Just a Meal
My wife and I recently returned to my hometown for an eight day visit to spend some time with my mom and reconnect with some longtime friends. During our stay, I made several trips to one of my all-time favorite restaurants, The Village Inn. I have always loved going to the Village Inn for the amazing food. In just my eight day visit, I dined in five or six times, and every single visit was exceptional. But what truly made each experience stand out wasn’t just the menu — it was one remarkable server, Devan, who turned every meal into something truly memorable.
From the moment we met, he made me feel like I had known him my entire life. He was warm, genuine, attentive, and incredibly personable — the kind of person who doesn’t just serve food, but creates an atmosphere of comfort, connection, and care. I was so impressed with our first interaction that I asked to be seated in his section every time. He never once missed a beat, no matter how busy the restaurant was. Even more incredible, through our conversations, he offered my high school best friend and me some surprisingly profound and timely life advice — the kind that sticks with you long after the meal is over.
Devan is not just in the right line of work — he is in the right calling. His presence, authenticity, and ability to connect on a deeper level, reminded me that sometimes the most meaningful moments happen in the most unexpected places.
I also want to recognize his supervisor, Kyle, who was equally outstanding. Despite the busy rush of dinners, Kyle had a gift for making our party feel like we were the only guests in the dining room. That level of attentiveness and hospitality made our experience even more special.
As I reflect on my visit home, I’ll remember the laughter with my family and friends — but I will also remember the kindness, care, and genuine human connection we experienced at this restaurant. To our server Devan, who made us feel so seen and valued: I believe you’re going to do amazing things in life, far beyond the walls of any dining room! Thank you for being exactly who you are!

Do yourself a favor and just get the eggs scrambled. I asked for over medium and they were hard. I might have lived with hard eggs but they were rubbery as well. I mentioned to the server about the eggs and she laughed and said that’s why they keep her in the front. By the taste of my eggs I might suggest their cooks belong in the front as well.

We went there for breakfast they couldn't decide who was going to seat us. Then the waiter came and took our order but we noticed other people around after we came got there food. We were both texting since we got there and it had been 45 minutes and no order we showed the waiter because we were working on our phones and he wanted to argue. So when he went and checked we left who knows what would happen to our food

This place since remodeling is just wonderful! food is amazing, nice clean atmosphere, and even though there was one waitress and one cook everything went smoothly and didn’t have to wait to long standard time! The food is just so good and tasty 😋. Definitely recommend this location to all. Will 100% be coming back!!
Parking: It’s not the best parking lot but lots of spots!
Kid-friendliness: They provide crayons and coloring on the kids paper menus and good portion size for children!

I placed a mobile order and was directed at time for pickup. Tried delivery and added a tip. Delivery unavailable. Went to pick up and order hadn’t been submitted so I waited 25 minutes.
When home, eggs were overcooked, hash browns were burnt, bacon was raw, and I didn’t get the pie slice I ordered.
So waste of time and money this time 😔

Please only because I had to put a star is the only reason I put one believe me this place is not worth it. I hate it I was looking for a nice place to go for Christmas and this was the worst. Please if you can go somewhere else do not waste your time or money at this place. I am sitting at 1 of their tables right now as I write this. From the server to the food and all please believe me don't come here.

Awful, cold food, therebwas maybe 4 tables and we waited 45 mins for our food, we asked about it and got a rude response from a Braden I think it was, they said we have only 1 cook, so we said shouldn't someone go back and help then, he said idk and he wasn't trained for that position., couple other coments by this guy was as well rude, the Ruben I got was made wrong, you don't toast the bread in a toaster for a Ruben. Also lots of fooling around and sitting not taking care of people that was there, this place needs an undercover boss to come in. We say our waitress maybe twice.. just awful

This is some of the worst service I’ve seen at this location. My boyfriend and I came to eat dinner tonight and our server Donathan was not the nicest. I had some questions on the menu and he was very rude in response and acted like I should’ve known the answers already. He wasn't around a lot while we were eating. Then, we got almost done eating and my boyfriend still hadn’t received the main course of his meal, pumpkin pancakes. We mentioned it to our server and he acted like he didn’t care that he forgot his main course. Then, he acted very dismissive with our bill and seemed like he wanted us out. To end it off, he didn’t say bye to us at all when we paid and was not personable at all. Some of the worst service we’ve seen in a long time.

My son ate at your restaurant today and then had a to go order after he ate. He showed the person there the text that I had sent him for the to go order for a chicken fried steak with eggs over easy and also a ultimate skillet with eggs over easy and English muffin. Surprise your place messed up the order. I received a ultimate breakfast and not a skillet and of course you didn't provide silverware as I believe now is your cost savings rip off of the customer. The hashbrowns are a joke as well. some time ago I wrote you with some of these concerns but surprise surprise I never received any response from you. I'm just going to start to make sure and post these reviews on google or Facebook from now on.
