I heard there was new ownership or something or other.. that they had changed and supposedly "improved" all their donut recipes. I live in Gretna and had never even heard of this place so I was excited to try these "new" donuts. Your donuts are the sweetest, sweetest, sweeeeetessstttt donuts I have ever consumed, they were ghastly.
Every single one of these donuts were sickeningly sweet and the quality of them were noticeably low, by all of my family members who I brought them home to. I don't even write reviews.. My last comment regarding quality, well your apple fritters??? Ya, they were soaked in oil and the dough was brown because it was pure oil. I literally squeezed the donut, and it was not dripping, but actually 'seeping' oil out of it. Like I was wringing a washcloth. I could have filled up a SHOT GLASS or more of oil coming out of one apple fritter.
Plz, reevaluate!!! Ohhhh also, $21, TWENTY ONE DOLLARS, $21.00, for 12 donuts!!! What is this!?

The young lad was polite and courteous . He was new at donut serving but did well in helping. The store was very clean and cheery. The morning news was available on the large screen tv but not too loud to communicate my order. The speed of service will pick up I'm sure, over time. Overall, good experience. Almost a perfect visit.

When this was sunrize donuts the donuts were the best I ever had. Never wanted to go anywhere else. Then I moved. I was in town when I saw donut run had taken over. I ordered my usual. So very disappointed. The donuts are no longer crispy on the outside soft on the inside. They’re chewy. They care more about the look of the donut than the quality. Frosting wasn’t even Set correctly. One donut had drippy frosting and the other was cracked. They’re over compensating with the donut decorations, ice cream, weird decor. Sunrize didn’t need any of that. The inside was all white, donuts fresh, and nothing else. In loving memory of sunrize. Sorry to see they couldn’t keep up with you.

We stopped in to Donut Run for the first time today! We have lived in Gretna for about 2 years now and we just discovered them! The donuts were great and the service was amazing! They also offer free coffee!We will definitely be making this a regular treat & we are excited to try ice cream!!

FRUSTRATED PREVIOUS CUSTOMER: Since the previous owner unfortunately passed, I have made several attempts to "shop local" here to show our support. However, VERY inconsistent hours grew extremely frustrating. When open, selection was very limited. I kept hope with the understanding "new" owners and staff needed training and things would gradually improve back to the way the place was ran understanding the difficult circumstances.However, after so many months, yes months, of these continuing inconsistencies I am tapping out.If you are not going to be open when you advertise you will be open, then I cannot support your business when the doors are locked.Such a shame as this location used to provide great quality donuts with reliable advertised hours of operation.2021 Review: Great selection of fresh donuts and rolls.Friendly staff.

Couldn’t even try their doughnuts. They had a sign saying “open at 7:45” but then had another sign underneath saying “opening at 8:00-8:15” so it was just very misleading. We waited until 8:25 and had to leave because we were gonna be late to work.

How is this place still open for business? Nasty and rude. What doughnut shop opens at 8 on Sunday, then only to have 4 trays of doughnuts? All of which taste like day olds. Horrible.

Incredibly rude. I showed up at just after 10:30. As I was walking to the door, someone walked up, didn't pay any attention to me at all, locked the door on me, and then walked away. If you are out of donuts and need to close early, it makes sense. But, to lock the door on someone as they're coming up to it...
