Very good restaurant. Food is excellent and the décor is comfortable. Steaks are nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. Interesting history about the building and the name. If you find yourself anywhere near Hartington, NE at meal time, I highly suggest you look them up.

Globe Chophouse is so close to being a really good restaurant. A friend recommended it so we went a bit out of our usual radius to go, calling on Friday to get a table at 7:00 on Saturday night. The ambience is great so we looked around a lot as we had to wait over 30 minutes. The host didn’t seem aware of our reservation and said I think we can fit you in after the 30 minutes. Our server was sweet but seemed stressed and service was a bit slow. Best of the night? Lemon Drop Martini, twice-baked potatoes, and Chicken Saltimbocca which was the special. Maybe they were short-staffed but letting us know with a quick apology would have helped.

Food was good with a menu that isn’t a mile long. I had the rueben and wife had fish sandwich. The most Nebraskan thing I may ever say is “the ranch is fantastic”. Service at first was a little slow but didn’t ruin the experience. If you understand that this is a small town in Nebraska working very hard to put out great meals and a reasonable price you will gladly wait a little bit. If I am in the area I will be back

I hate it when a restaurant posts a photo on social media of some delicious looking entree, and and I order it only to find what is served isn't exactly what the online photo looks like. Not true with the Globe Chophouse. My lunch (today's special was Salisbury Steak) looked exactly like the photo that lured me in, and I appreciate that. Too often, what customers receive is either less food than the photo, or it looks like it was just thrown together by staff who was rushed to get it out the door. In fact, I was so impressed by the way my food looked and smelled, that I didn't think about taking a photo until it was already half devoured.I scrolled back through the photos on FB and wish I had been around last week, because one of the specials was a Thanksgiving turkey poutine which looked amazing. Our server said it was a hit and quickly sold out.The staff was friendly and attentive. There is a shortage of restaurant staff post-pandemic, so I wasn't surprised to see only one server for the whole lunch crowd. I was, however, surprised that I never had to ask for a drink refill, and that our server never looked like she was even the slightest bit overwhelmed. The FOH Manager (or maybe owner?) even visited each table briefly to check that everything was prepared to our satisfaction.I am blown away that a restaurant of this caliber is tucked away in rural Nebraska. If The Globe Chophouse were located in any major culinary city, I am certain it would have a few AAA Diamonds. It is definitely worth a detour.

Have ate there three times for lunch. First time had pot roast with potatoes and carrots. Portions were not very good as three small carrots isn't really a "side of vegetable" and most of the pot roast was only gravy. Gave it two other chances and just haven't been impressed, especially with lunch prices.

Beautiful historic building, with a great atmosphere. Big city feel with small town friendliness. Have eaten here many times and the food is always great with nice presentation. Love that they use fresh local ingredients.

We made a reservation. When we arrived they had no idea, it was a birthday with a handicapable person. We were seated right by the kitchen and couldn't hear each other. No Birthday mention. The food is highly overrated. We won't be back. Others I've spoken to feel the same...... But they are too polite so say anything. It's back to The Chief for me. Always reliable and friendly with great food. Good Luck Chop House, you need an experienced FOH Mgr. BTW I am retired but spent 42 years working in hospitality. Just Saying
