Firehouse Subs Benchmark

Just passing through on a road trip and decided to order, the subs were great and my whole family really enjoyed the Mac and cheese!

I normally stop at firehouse in Des moines iowa for a Philly steak and cheese including mushrooms absolutely delicious to go unfortunately this firehouse location was not very well with sandwich prepping it was horrible honestly very messy, cold cheese not melted mushrooms not added in the sandwich correctly grease on my box and bag so unfortunate at this location other city's are great

The two people working there were fine, but it took a very long wait to get our food, the food was awful and the AC was out in the restaurant so it was pretty miserable.

Where do I start. Air conditioning not working, smells horrible inside, food slapped together and nasty. 🤢 this place is awful. I love firehouse subs but this location should be past over at all costs.

This picture on the wall depicts two firefighters battling a car fire with no SCBA, nomex hood, or coat like a car fire isn't extremely dangerous and incredibly toxic even after the fire is out. At least they are honest with how unsafe and complacent this fire department operates.
The food was good but not $20 good. That price is absolutely ridiculous just for a sandwich, chips and small drink. The cashier sounded like she could care less about my order and just wanted to go home. The restaurant was clean if you didn't look under the table. The atmosphere was smokey.

Ate here today, and had an amazing experience. My mom is gluten free and they did have a gluten free bread option which she loved. The manager (?) Was very friendly and willing to accommodate her and I in any way. The new employees and management are doing great!
