“I've ALWAYS had good meals - BUT, Saturday had fish and chips and it was horrible. The fish tasted nasty (bad oil?) fries were not great, and the coldshaw smelled sour. The salad was good. The 5 others we dined with had a good experience. I was disappointed I didn't get food at LJS :) But the environment is much better at RL.”

“Waited 47 minutes to get our order. ( we sat down at 5:02. 3 other tables had customers and were eating) Tried to order the all you can eat special and the waitress had forgotten about it. If we wouldn't have asked then no special was offered. When the order came out the shrimp was warm and the breading was mush (sat under heat lamp??) The rib tips were a joke all sauced up and very little meat. The second order rib tips never came that I ordered with the shrimp and was told the chef put all the ribs on the first platter. I ordered more shrimp it came out hot and had a little crisp to it... What a disappointment after being told things were way better now. Don't waste your time it's no better. To top it off the waitress knocked over a glass of water on our table.....”

“So happy there is an authentic Thai restaurant here in Kearney. Generally good portions, was able to comfortably split an appetizer & entree for 2 people for lunch. Their Thai iced tea is to die for — not used to having whipped cream on it, but still good. I do wish the chicken satay had larger pieces for the price ($9), but it was tender and flavorful. Loved the dipping sauces - it went well with the satay and the acidity cut through the flavor of the noodles.”

“Okay. Any bar that has a smoker going while ur drinking automatically gets a 4 star in my book. Pit Master competition smoker made me break a semi while having my Woodford Reserve.

Prices are a little bit higher than other places ($9 for my whiskey coke) but great outside bench area - low key joint, chill.. obviously has been an old school bar for a minute and local favorite.

Service got a 4 star just because when I asked if there was any special that uses Woodfords, didn't offer to substitute in another whiskey based special drink (i.e. Jack blackberry lemonade) so a miss there for an upsale I would have gone for. 😢

Also, i discovered the smoker outside - why not offer it with a menu while I'm drinking at noon?

“Good morning, Kearney Nebraska! Let me just say that you have a hidden gem of a coffee shop in your just-east-of-center heart! I had to drive a bit to get there but it was worth every quarter mile even if I'd have had to crawl it! What a delightful little oasis in a mostly aggro-industrial area. As I pulled into the drive-through lane, I had to proceed very slowly and very cautiously so as not to knock into anything or knock anything down as I gawked at the beautiful decorations and a zillion tiny details that go into the making of this coffee oasis. A delight for the eyes before you even sip the joe. After my unfortunate experience yesterday morning, I was just hoping for good coffee before we hit the road, wheels pointed west. What I found was a sweet barista who was friendly and chatty, but not too much. When I asked about a flat white, she wasn't 100% sure so I explained that I just wanted two shots with about 4 - 6 oz of half and half. Of course she could make that. Of course she could. Because there's no special knowledge required...just a willing heart. It always makes my blood boil when I hear that a coffee show "can't" (read: won't) make a drink that literally has two ingredients in it. Ingredients that are easily at hand. But I digress. We waited a couple of moments while she made our drinks, a hot chocolate as well. Yes, whip cream, thank you! As we drove away, beginning our journey home, we were buoyed by the deliciousness in our cups. If anything, the flat white was stronger than it had to be but it was so good that I just sipped and enjoyed it.”

“This is one of the best places to grab breakfast, lunch or any dessert. I haven’t tried them all, but it’s definitely a goal of mine. The ice cream was at one time UNL Dairy, I’m not sure if it still is, but it is fantastic as well. The butterscotch is the best. I was in there a couple of years ago admiring a tiered chocolate cake. When I went to purchase the cake, the owner told me that she couldn’t sell it to me in good faith because it was old. She gifted me the cake! Not just a discount, the whole cake. I couldn’t believe it. We would have never known it wasn’t fresh baked. It was the best cake we’d ever had! Now it’s our go to place for cake. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes to get lost in a cool store. They have a little of everything for the kitchen.”

“I got the tiny 4 pack of rolls for $3.99 + tax. The clerk was less than happy to be there, and the prices weren't totally posted. I THINK I got the most inexpensive item... not sure though.

Parking: The parking is at either end of the building, There are approximately 4 stalls on the North end of the building, including 1 handicapped accessible stall, and there are several other staĺls across the parking lot, on the South end of the building. People don't watch when they are pulling into the parking lot or when they are backing out of the parking stalls.”

“My friend usually gets a nitro brew, but this location doesn't make them. The cashier was kind, patient, and helped reccomend something she might like. Friend loved the cold pressed coffee she got, and I enjoyed mine as well. Good coffee, good staff. Great experience overall.”

“This hotpot place is a good date spot! It’s around $30 per person and it’s all you can eat hotpot. You receive a menu where you pick what meats and sides you want. You’ll get your own personal pot of broth (regular/spicy) and there is a sauce cart where you can make your own sauces.

My favorite side is the fried tofu & I also really enjoyed the lamb. There is a fee for food waste though, so be sure you and your party can finish all the food. Great service here as well. Will definitely be coming back to this hotpot place in Kearney.”
