Angus burgers & shakes Reviews
How does this place stay open? I stopped in for lunch today at Angus in Kearney. While I was hoping for a nice, yummy meal, it didn't quite hit the spot! Let me start by saying, we were the only people in the restaurant. No one else came in while we were there. The waitress said that she was glad to see someone! Their menu is quite long with choices of burgers. I went with the goat. The order took like three minutes, I was surprised at how quickly they were prepared. ...read full review
Mouth watering burgers. Definitely hit the spot!
Aayush saved our night! We had come over from an overpacked chain restaurant with two very hungry kids. He sat us immediately and made sure the kids had drinks and got our order put in. He got our fries out fast before everything so the kids had something to munch on. Food came out hot and super quick, and for the first time ever both kids finished their food. He refilled drinks without being asked and was nothing but respectful. We absolutely will be returning again.

Angus Burgers & Shakes is a restaurant known for its tasty burgers and shakes. A popular item is the French onion burger, which has flavors similar to French onion soup. The poutine is enjoyable, with pepper jack cheese that can be surprisingly spicy. The Islander and French onion burgers are flavorful, though some feel they can be a bit overcooked. The kids' menu offers cheeseburgers and corn dog bites, while sweet potato tots remain a favorite side dish.
Recent reviews highlight the smash burger as one of the best, praised for being cooked just right and juicy. The shakes like The King and Oreo are enjoyable, though they can be overly melted. Prices average around $110 for a meal, including tax, tip, and a credit card surcharge. Service is attentive and quick, with staff knowledgeable about gluten-free options, making the experience even better. The restaurant features a spacious, open warehouse-style interior that can be quite noisy. Despite this, many visitors find the ambiance and overall experience impressive, often planning to return.
Some customers have praised the crab rangoon burger with a wagyu beef upgrade, and the fresh, crispy fries go well with the burgers. The outdoor aesthetic is inviting, and the interior vibe enhances the dining experience, making it a great local hangout. Recent visits also mention the loaded tots, which are like a Big Mac over tater tots, and sliders served on separate plates, with all food and service described as awesome. One diner enjoyed the huge Smash Burger with grilled onions, fried pickles, smash sauce, cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, tomatoes, and lettuce, noting the fries were delicious and made in-house. Many find the meals satisfying and look forward to returning for shakes or desserts next time.
