El Potrero Reviews
One of the bartenders threatened to call the cops on MY HUSBAND for calmly walking an extremely drunk college kid out the front door that was being obnoxious and bothering other patrons. They clearly should not have been serving him and were refusing to do anything about his intoxication level. He was grabbing peoples wallets, bothering women at the bar, etc, and all he did was tell him to call it a night and walked him out. Then he was told, not asked, told to leave or they would...read full review
Excellent service with great hours
We stopped in for a late lunch/early supper before the Husker women’s basketball game. The food was delicious, prepared quickly, and we were able to eat without being rushed. The Enchiladas Jalisco were fabulous.

El Potrero is a Mexican restaurant that offers a varied menu with both hits and misses. The queso is a standout, while the Mojito and guacamole have room for improvement. The Enchilada Supreme and Enchilada Ranchero receive high praise, although the lack of rice and beans with the Enchilada Supreme is a disappointment. The salsa is well-received, and the chips are noted as tasting amazing, unlike any other restaurant chips. The service can be hit or miss; however, many recent visitors have noted friendly and willing staff, even on a server's first day. The restaurant is recognized for its fast and easy pickup or dine-in service, particularly on game days, and it is a favorite spot for many customers during football and basketball events. El Potrero also features a tequila bar that is considered one of the best in the city, with a selection of high-end shots available. Despite some issues, the overall experience is positive, and the restaurant may become a new favorite for some customers, especially with dishes like el peubleto, chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas, as well as popular drinks like the frozen strawberry margarona.
