The best things in life are worth waiting for. That is the best way to describe Grateful Bread. Guaranteed there will always be a line, but that proves just how amazing their food is. I have yet to try something I don't like. Getting some of their Moroccan tomato soup lights up my eyes like a child on Christmas morning. The scones are to die for. All of the Mac and Cheese options, yes, please. Hours aren't always set in stone, but that makes it all the more special. My mouth is salivating like one of Pavlov's dogs writing this review. Can't wait until my next visit. It's the best way to treat myself, and give my tummy some comfort food.

The food is the best in town but be forewarned that they run out of food early and you will have to wait at least 30-45 minutes. After many long line waits and failed attempts to get the food I wanted because it sold out, I gave up on them about a year ago. But last week I saw they had Santa Fe Chowder and knew they were trying to have enough food to last the day. I had just received a cancer diagnosis and thought, what the hell, I’m going to go down there and get some soup and Mac n cheese. I got down there at 2:30, waited in line for 25 minutes only to have the guy in front of me buy the last of the Santa Fe Chowder. And, it turned out all the Mac n cheese was gone as well. I’m happy for all those of you who are willing to wait it out but I’m not one of you any more. Life is too short.

It was not hard not having this did while they were closed for part of the pandemic. Tried a new macaroni and cheese, Cowboy and my husband had Vampire macaroni and cheese. Had cheese scones and tried the chocolate peppermint scones and had a chocolate chip cookie! This food may be the best in town!

This place has 4-5 star vegetarian food, drawing in a very loyal following. However, the consistent 45-60+ minute wait times, as they consistently run out of your 1st and 2nd menu choices; is unbearable. Doesn't help that they are only open 8 hours a week (12-4 on Thursdays and Saturdays). More of a novelty than anything else...good enough food to where I'll be back..but I'll definitely be taking an extended break after back-to-back-to-back disappointing experiences.

Great vegan soups and other options. My only wish is that this place was open more it’s a really nice spot :)

Worth the wait for THE best soup, scones, Mac/cheese, and cinnamon rolls.

Best vegetarian soups and bakery ever. the Moroccan soup is to die for with a cheese scone. An absolute Lincoln Institution. But come early and be prepared to wait.

I love my furry kids

Amazing food!!!!!!!!! I've been eating here for years & it's always great! I wish they were open longer hours and more days. Get there early & be prepared to wait in a long line with cash or check. Their Facebook page is helpful as well check it before you go.

THE MOROCCAN TOMATO SOUP!!!! Everything I've had here is delicious but this one stands out. Now that I don't live in Lincoln I've had to try and recreate it

Did they move or close? I tried to go during listed hours, but it was not open and plants looked under watered.

Love Grateful Bread for what it is. Quirky, colorful, locally owned veggie food. I'm a Mac and cheese here all the way girl. Over the years I've tried all their soups and they are pretty good but I prefer my own. I've tried all their mac & cheese and they're delish, and I prefer their's. The school cafeteria mac is my favorite, chipotle is second. The extra crunchy concentrated corners of the pan are my favorite. If they have cheese scones, don't hesitate to get one. It's carb heavy but definitely food for the soul.

If it's served here, it's good. How I miss the fresh cheese scones while they're temporarily closed due to the pandemic. Once they reopen, I'll remember the tough decision they made to stay closed throughout 'soup season' for the safety of their customers and have lunch here more frequently, even if it requires waiting in line as has been known to happen. The decor is also delightful with a friendly staff and so many healthy vegetarian options.
