Koen Japanese BBQ & Sushi offers a delightful and authentic BBQ experience. The meats are fresh and expertly prepared, with the 10 oz wagyu being a highlight. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff, including the friendly server Dawson, takes the time to explain the menu choices and techniques. The sushi is also great, and grilling your own food adds a unique touch. The food is delicious, with the crab and lobster rangoons being the best. They got the Koen Premium set, which was a great combination of meats, and the barbecue sampler had high quality cuts of steak and pork. The restaurant was accommodating and friendly, providing a good value with the large platter that includes salad, soup, appetizers, and some of the best rice they have ever had. However, there was a long delay in getting a server for the first approach, and one visit noted that the temperature in the BBQ section was uncomfortably hot. Overall, Koen is a fun place for family get-togethers, with something for everyone to enjoy.
