Rutabagas Comfort Food

We live in Omaha and somehow just ate here for the first time recently and OMG. If you haven’t tried it, you have to. Even if you aren’t vegan, the onion rings, crab rangoon nachos, and philly are all amazing! Can’t wait to go back!

I can't believe I haven't rated rutabagas yet. They are amazing! You can't miss on their surprisingly big menu. The buffalo mac and Philly are my personal favorites, and the burgers are so good. Even my meat eating in-laws go out of their way to get the burgers. Also, the owner, Sara, is super nice. If you're trying to decide where to eat, the decision has been made. It's Rutabagas. Go now.

Rutabagas is always delicious! Not only is the food fantastic and a ton of variety (I've never had a dish I didn't like!) but the owner is super friendly/knowledgeable and the restaurant is cute. Very thankful a vegan reuben exists in Lincoln! The hamburgers are to die for and blow all other vegan ones out of the water.

The food was the absolute best mouth watering comfort food I've had, and even vegan to boot! The cashier/waitress was very polite and friendly, and offered recommendations for the menu. The nachos sent us to heaven! And the peanut butter cup milkshake was a masterpiece. Highly recommend this place and wish we had one in Iowa! Can't wait to come back again.

Well, I have never eaten a vegan before, but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. After being only slightly offended by reading a book titled 'Eat Plants, B*tch' I got over myself and lived the meatless life for a brief time. I'd say the only thing that could be approved is to introduce meat to the menu.

Traveling thru and must say this is a great spot. Seating is crowded, but the food is wowza..

We had Onion rings...best ever had!! My wife had the BBQ jack fruit nacho and were awesome. We split the Philly and it was awesome. 10/10

This place has fantastic fare. We didn't know what to expect going in, but it was an adventure, so no big deal. We both got nachos; my wife got Crab Rangoon nachos, and I got the Rutabaga Blaster nachos. (can't remember the real name). They were YUGE and absolutely delicious! They are very concerned about allergies and the menu has lots of relevant information. The proprietor was extra nice and mellow, so that was cool too. I must say that this was the best vegetarian nachos I have ever had, and as they have an extensive menu, we'll be going back soon to try something else.

Great food!

Rutabagas had the food truck at the Outlandia Music Festival in Bellevue. Got the Buffalo Mac n Cheese. Fantastic! Great to have a vegan option that even non vegans would enjoy. Well done!

Rutabagas is hands down my favorite vegan option in all of the land! Sara always greets me with a smile and has my order memorized. The atmosphere is inviting and the team is always hospitable. Grateful to have this plant-based option in Lincoln!

First time going today for dinner! AMAZING food! I have to eat dairy free due to my infant being allergic to dairy and I was able to get their Monster Mac and cheese and it was delicious! My very much “against” eating vegan husband for the Bahn Mi sandwich and even he was impressed and loved the food.
We will 100% be returning regularly!

WOW! This place was absolutely incredible, my husband was looking for a new place to try in Lincoln and wow are we glad we stopped in. Not pictured is the amazing Bahn MI my hubby got, but the mac and cheese was also incredible. We will be back so I can try out the Pulled Jackfruit. Also gonna have to leave room for dessert next time because the portions were very hardy. Such a cute place and incredible food that even a carnivore could appreciate ?

Rutabagas has become a regular weekly treat for me now that they're in the Meadowlane shopping center. Their burgers are AMAZING!!!!! I took my teen daughter to one of their food truck events and got her the crab rangoon nachos without telling her they would be vegan. She said it was "the best crab she's ever had" and cleaned her plate. No matter how many times I eat there, I'm always blown away that what I'm eating is vegan because it's just so good. I really can't say enough great things about Sara and her team. Go. You won't regret it.
