I've been to Merricks many times and this is the first time that I've been disappointed. First of all the waitress rushed through everything from taking orders and giving us our food to checking on us. There were 5 senior citizens in my group and the waitress didn't seem to have any patience with didn't seem to have any patience with answering questions about the menu. A couple of the people in our group are hard of hearing and needed to have a couple of things repeated. When she brought the food, she didn't go around the table to hand out the plates. She stood on one side and reached over the table as we helped pass out the food. When she brought my dessert, she kind of tossed the pudding bowl towards me and said that dessert was included with my order. Speaking of which, I ordered the ribeye sandwich and asked for medium rare. It was more like rare. I ate the one half which was cooked a little more than the other half. I brought the other half home and will cook it a little more before I eat it. Another person in our party ordered jumbo shrimp, but only a small container of cocktail sauce. It was difficult for her to dip her shrimp into the container. The waitress checked on us a couple of times, but barely noticed when we needed something. Another waitress brought us the take home boxes. Not a pleasant experience today.

Food: pretty good. Portion sizes vary between the dishes. Price just depends on what dish. Bit not bad for 12 dollars for a burger and fries. Service: it depends on your waitress. Some are very attentive and some aren’t. Mine was well just, rushing a bit since she was also being a line cook too. Atmosphere: while I was eating (I’m a slow eater) there were 3 to go orders for pickup. Their wait inside was 15 mins from the time they were helped. Not to mention the last one wasn’t helped for 6 mins due to no staff on the floor. However, you can hear them gossiping in the kitchen. A customer came in and sat down for 5 mins before leaving. A staff came out and told the customer (who is a regular) where you going? The customer “I’m leaving because apparently no one is working. “ and left with the staff calling out after them. Even if it’s slow, I believe a staff should be on the floor assisting customers and other duties. 🤷🏽♀️ I’m on the fence on coming back for dine in because of the lack of attentiveness to the customers. Also, really don’t want to hear “hushed” conversations of your “relationships” while I’m eating.

Had their steak sandwich lunch special. Very good. One of the best steak sandwiches I’ve had. Very tender, juicy and flavorful! Service was fast and friendly. Great food great service! Highly recommend stopping by when in the area! I will stop by the next time i am in the area for lunch.
We were visiting from Phx Az. The waitress was very young and was Awsesome. She suggested menu items that were on special and inexpensive. The cook was present and was also helpful. I would give the staff a 10, Plus. Freak dining place for those out of towers looking for a nice home style place. Tim and Pam Potts San Tan Valley Az.

Okay place to eat if you don't have any other options. Quiet authentic place to get your brewed coffee, nothing fancy, which is fine. Ordered two brewed coffee and hot beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy (highly processed meat that was barely warm+instant mashed potatoes and instant gravy with it on two slices of white bread😋) and all of it for 27.31 with tax, seen other reviews saying that it's a reasonable price is simply not true. Overall do not recommend.
