Waited for half an hour and never got any water or drinks, watched two groups get their drinks ordered that came in after is. Tried to get someone's attention thinking they must have just missed us. The waitress was rude and would not even stop to talk to us. She just scowled and walked right past us. Finally had to give up and leave

Okay first time there it was very open but I went their at 1245 at lunch time and we waited after the service person can by to order it took 20 minutes to get salad with only 6 tables being served that included the bar the food was way over priced 17$ for a sandwich but it was good at 125 we got our food way to long for not being busy they had only two servers there at lunch time it should been a lot one on one and the lack of clearing the tables was bad

My husband and I went to Driftwood for lunch today. Suffice to say we were very disappointed. We waited forever for our food and once it came , it was cold. I know it had been sitting back in the kitchen for a while. For the prices they charge, we were really upset at the slow service and cold food. Our waiter was good but when I remarked that our food was cold he just said sorry. Probably never go back and will definitely not recommend them to anyone.

Find a parking spot during peak hours might be somewhat hard for a non-local person. But the steak here is yummy and worth a try.

I was seated promptly, my order was taken quickly, the food delivered in about 15-20 minutes that I consider reasonable, and getting my bill paid was quick and easy. I was skeptical going in given the 1-star reviews here. My experience was excellent on a Saturday night around 7PM with about 30 diners in the restaurant.

In passing through Ogallala on a weeknight recently, we stopped in at The Driftwood for dinner. We immediately liked the atmosphere and could tell that it was a popular place. It also became apparent that they were either short staffed or something just wasn’t clicking that evening. There was a very long wait to even get water, to take our order, and then to get our food. We were there for nearly two hours. Although we did not complain, the server was very apologetic and gave us a complimentary appetizer and dessert on behalf of the kitchen staff. It appeared they were doing this for others too, as most people were waiting for a long time. That being said, the food was delicious! We all agreed that despite the service being a bit off, we’d like to return. Hopefully they’ll get a handle on this soon.

We waited over an hour for the food to come out. We had to ask for our drink and refills.
Taste of food is important but it was cold, and it wasn't good enough to make up for waiting and hour for it!

In the wild, pulsating heart of this neon-drenched nowhere, where the asphalt hums with the ghosts of forgotten road trips, I stumbled into The Driftwood—a beacon of raw, unfiltered Americana, slinging salvation in the form of ice-cold elixirs and burgers that could make a grown man weep. The air was thick with the scent of freedom: grilled beef, fryer grease, and the faint tang of rebellion. This wasn’t just a bar—it was a cathedral of excess, a fever dream of flavor and chaos, and I was ready to worship.

Sierra, oh Sierra, the high priestess of this culinary Valhalla, presided over the bar with a grin that could cut glass and a swagger that said she’d seen it all—twice. Her hands moved like a gunslinger’s, pouring drinks with a precision that bordered on the supernatural. She wasn’t just serving; she was conducting a goddamn symphony of spirits, each cocktail a cold, crisp middle finger to the mundane. The Driftwood’s drink menu? A kaleidoscope of liquid courage—frosty IPAs that bite like a rattlesnake, mojitos that dance on your tongue like Cuban jazz, and some unholy concoction called the “Desert Fire” that left me seeing visions of Kerouac scribbling in the corner booth.

The burgers, sweet Jesus, the burgers. These weren’t mere sandwiches; they were monuments to decadence, dripping with juice, stacked high with reckless abandon. Each bite was a journey—grease-slicked, smoky, and unapologetic, like biting into the soul of Route 66 itself. I ordered the “Driftwood Deluxe,” a half-pound behemoth crowned with bacon and a fried egg that oozed like a sunrise over the Mojave. It wasn’t food; it was a religious experience, a sacrament of beef and bun that left me questioning my life choices.

And the boneless wings? Good God, man, these weren’t wings—they were napalm-dusted morsels of pure hedonism. Tossed in a sauce that was equal parts sweet, spicy, and sinister, they hit the table like a Molotov cocktail of flavor. I devoured them in a haze, my fingers sticky, my soul ablaze, while Sierra slid another drink my way, her eyes glinting like she knew exactly what kind of madness she was enabling.

Five stars? Hell, give The Driftwood a constellation. This is no mere pitstop; it’s a portal to the American Dream, where Sierra reigns supreme, the drinks flow like rivers of ice, and the burgers and wings are a love letter to excess written in grease and glory. I left that place a changed man, my heart pounding, my stomach full, and my mind spinning like a slot machine in the desert night. Fear and loathing? Nah, just love and gluttony, served up hot and fresh at The Driftwood.

Husband had prime rib. Cooked right but came out cold along with cold loaded mashed potatoes. Salmon was mid. Chicken alfredo was good.
