They seemed to be understaffed and the service was slow. Appetizers came out at the same time as the food. We had to request plates, chopsticks, silverware etc. Our server was really sweet and seemed to be doing her best. The food was good. Certainly nothing deal breaking. Kona is a good go-to when looking for a night out.
It has been several years since we had been to Kona. While several of the dishes were as remembered and the new ones very good, the pricing was outrageous! $39 for an order of fish and chips that consisted of 1 fried filet and 10 steak fries? $21 for 6 pot stickers and $21 for 2 avocado egg rolls? We waited over 40 minutes for our entrees as well. Our server was gracious and attentive, a highlight. We will not be back anytime soon
We waited to be greeted for about 2-3 minutes. There was no host at the entrance. Once a host did appear they were not welcoming with not even a grin. We arrive 40 minutes prior to our reservation asking if they could accept us and if not no big deal! To our luck...we go in! We chose to sit on the patio but this area ahould be closed because it's nearly 85 degrees in the space. No appealing to sit and eat. The overall resturant needs some serious maintenance and curb appeal. The food was mediocre and we definitely ate it. The server was very nice and did his job fairly well with being seated several times with in 30 minutes. He just kind of got busy and was slow to check on us after we ate - waiting for about 10 minutes for the bill. It's unfortunate because I think this resturant was really great about 10 years ago, but has declined in appeal, value, and service. I won't be going back.
Terrible! Had reservation for Mother's Day and was seated 50 minutes late and service was so slow we left. Bad management all around.
We went for Mothers Day Brunch. Our reservation was for 12:15 but didnt get seated until 12:35. They said the brunch ended at 12:30 and it was too late.....which was posted No Where online. The bill for my Mom and me was $95 for 2 apps, 1 side salad, and a sushi roll. So over priced. It took 2 hrs to get our food. I felt bad for the server. Two servers walked out. She was doing the best she could and kept a positive attitude. When we were walking out we saw a table get the brunch we originally came for.
We had reservations at 12pm for the Mother's Day Brunch. When making our reservation that specifically was asked and I also included in our reservation 'special comments' that not everyone in our group would be getting the brunch, but we would be going for brunch. When we got to the host to let her know we arrived, she only told us our table would be ready 10-15 min. That was appropriate since we arrived at 11:45 for our noon reservation. We were seated at 12:05 and the waitress brought us our drinks. She came back to the table for us to order. I asked what all was included in the brunch and she told us they ran out of brunch. I was startled since we came for that specifically and since I saw that the brunch was supposed to be 10am-2pm and it was only 12pm. The hostess should have let us know since our reservation was for the brunch. And she should have seen our special comments when we arrived. We made the poor decision of staying and ordering from the menu. We were not warned that there was a delay in food coming out. 90 minutes later we were served our food and we never even had our silverware and napkins until I asked the waitress. Huge disappointment in our experience. While the food was OK- our family of 4 was not worth $140. Will not be going back if I have a choice.
After being seated and ordering drinks, it took 46 minutes to get 3 mimosas from the bar, they were out of their top seller macadamia nut chicken “since yesterday” and my son's meal was wrong twice. Completely get they were slammed but overall disappointed on Mother's Day.
Went to Kona on Mother's Day had reservations no problem. We waited 1 1/2 hours for food waiter came over and apologized once and we had to flag him down for drinks. The food came out and steaks were cold and dry and we didn't get some sides and also wrong sides. We also got the Mothers Day brunch and that came out after everyone was done eating and also came out one thing at a time. The Brunch was a joke for $49.00 everything was cold. Pancakes definitely came out of a box and still felt like they were a little frozen. Sausage and eggs were cold along with biscuits and gravy. Portions could have been for a 5yr old. Asked for manager 2 times we finally got up to fine one. Managed did credit are bill and we didn't expect that so that was good. But definitely would not go back. Expected so much more for the high prices.
The food was amazing, the drinks were incredible, and our server grant was fantastic!! Definitely can't wait to come back !!
The brunch food was okay. Definitely, not worth $49 / person. The pastries were delicious! The scrambled eggs were flavorless and cold. The veggie pancakes were strange, and only one person in our party of 6 even liked them. We had to ask for biscuits and gravy and the chicken fried steak as they were not brought out as a part of the main servings. The meat options and tots with gravy were good. It would have been lovely to be able to I order the items we preferred from the brunch menu. Our server, Sam, was fantastic.

Definitely recommend! Cocktails and food were amazing! Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Great variety on the menu with something for everyone. Love the ambiance.
We were immediately seated at a table in the patio area as requested. The waiter took our drink order quickly and gave us time to determine what we wanted to eat. Our meal order was delivered quickly. Drinks were refilled before we ran out. Very pleasant experience.
We took some friends for dinner who had never been. Sadly the meal took 2+ hours! Service and food delivery very very slow. Not all meals were hot, disappointing experience.
Tbh it's was just bad. First time in years I sent my food my back and refused to pay for it. I tipped my waiter $30 but the food was cold. The steak was mid, my wife's meal was cold
Been to Kona a few times, I've always enjoyed it. This time seemed kinda bland. We ordered the Las Vegas roll and it had a bland and boring taste to it. The biggest thing I gotta bring (forewarning, I'm kinda dumb and don't know my meats very well and didn't even notice until I went to eat my left overs) up is that I had ordered the NY Strip with the potato things, but I was given a ribeye with asparagus. It's no big deal. I still ate it and it was hella tasty. Oh, I skipped over appetizers. Chicken Satay. Hands down the best in Omaha. 69 stars. My date ordered the chicken and shrimp fried rice. It was tasty! With no drinks, I was shocked to see a bill of $150. Will I be coming back? Absolutely. The atmosphere is nice and the waitstaff is top notch. Okay love you.
