I had seen her service first hand the last time I was in for a neighboring table, and it was 100% worth it coming back and requesting her for a special evening. You can have the best food but it's only as good as the server presenting it.”

“My second time to Memoir. Most in our party ordered the Pan-Seared Trout because they were sold out of the Faroe Island Salmon. For an appetizer, we recommend the Yellowtail Sashimi. We were not familiar with the wine list but the New Zealand Koha Sauvignon Blanc suggested by our server was an excellent choice. Memoir has quickly become very popular in Downtown Omaha so we would recommend reservations. Top notch wait staff.”

“Made our second trip last night. The first time, I asked for the level 4 heat (out of 5). It tasted great, but I was hoping for more heat. Last night, I got the Spicy Lym with level 5. They need to label level 5 FA&FO. I love spicy food and this stuff hit hard. It's not the hottest thing I've ever had, but it's hot enough and still tastes good. My wife had the miso and really liked it. The mussels were a great starter. Service was excellent. Thank you all for the great experience.”

“Yoshitomo is the best sushi place in Omaha, along with Koji and Umami. The portions are tiny, but their dishes are fun, creative, and delicious. My favorite is Kani Miso, which has the perfect balance of snow crab, red caviar and buttery rice. I also tend to judge the restaurant by the Uni they serve - whether the scent is plesant and the texture. Yoshitomo has such pleasant Uni delivered all the way fresh from Japan. They also change up their menu frequently, which adds to another fun element.

Personally, I like this restaurant slightly better than Koji, as Koji focuses more on skewers but here, the focus is more on other fun dishes. The servers are always friendly. As far as the atmosphere, I love their dim, theatrical lighting.”

“I love Reis' Bakery! I am a foodie and I have not had anything I did not like. Everything is made fresh daily. They use the best ingredients too. My favorites include, the pretzel bread (I forget the name, but I love it), bacon cheddar loaf, the croissant sandwich, cherry cheese baskets and cruffins! The family is so super nice. I hope they stay around for a long time!”

“My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Le Voltaire last night. It was our first time at the restaurant. We WILL be going back! The food was insanely delicious. When we took the first bites of our dishes (appetizers and entrees), my husband and I both closed our eyes and chewed in silence. Ha! Sadly, we couldn't stay for dessert as we didn't have enough time before our next scheduled event. The whole staff was genuinely welcoming. But our server, Lisa, was the absolute best! She was friendly and downright adorable. I'm sure all the other servers are great, but I would ask for Lisa when we go back. She helped make our experience that much more enjoyable.”

“I went there to order a pizza. Shea took my order, and when I asked about stuffed crust it was obvious that they did not offer this type of crust. That didn't stop Shea, she thought she could do it, never done one before but was willing to give it a shot. It is people like this that create return customers. The pizza was great, little too much sauce - says a guy who usually orders his pizza's sauceless. But, the willingness of Shae to even attempt it was the true value.”

“All the employees are friendly and helpful, they know my name and order as soon as they see me. I have met people for business there and other times I grab a cup of coffee and go. Either way, the place is very nice and clean and mostly professional people meeting and talking there at the tables. It is a bigger space than most coffee shops and we can always get a table there. Anyway, the coffee is good and the place is great I highly recommend the place.”

“My wife and I were in town for the "Beyond Van Gogh" exhibit at the Mid-America Center. Afterward, we looked up restaurants near us and chose La Sierra because several reviews mentioned authentic cuisine. We were not misled. The menu is small and straight forward. Pick your fillings and choose it in either a gordita, burrito, quesadilla or on a plate. We both got selections as gorditas. My wife ordered: Asado De Puerco, Picadillo Verde and Picadillo Rojo. I ordered: Papas Con Carne, Papas Con Chorizo and Deshabrada. I also wound up getting a burrito with Machaca. All the meats were seasoned nicely and delicious. Both the verde and rojo salsas they brought out enhanced the food. The rojo does have a kick (same sauce as in the Desshbrada) but the heat didn't linger so eating it was enjoyable. The margarita I ordered was delicious, made with real lime juice. Some people might complain because it is regular sized, served in a glass roughly the size of a martini glass. It isn't a gigantic gimmick you find in a lot of American-Mexican restaurants. It hit the spot! The fruit empanadas were lovely, the crust similar to a sugar cookie with strawberry or apricot. We tried both and thought the apricot won by a hair. Its sweet flavor was slightly stronger than the strawberry. The service was excellent, both our server and the gentleman from the kitchen (maybe owner) who brought out food to the table were extremely friendly and a pleasure to speak with. We've marked La Sierra in our "must do again" list and when we care back in Omaha, we will be stopping in.”
