Elote corn, Ramen Fries, Asado and Chilango Burrito. The Chilango burrito was the front runner but everything was soo flavorful. It isb ocated on the north side of the strip mall on the northwest side of 50th and L. It is not easily visible from the street. They apparently will be expanding into the next bay. It is very casual (order at the counter) but very clean. It is easily accessible with only a threshold and a swinging door. We spent $40 for 2 apps, two entrees, a soda and a beer. If I thought I could eat more food and live, I would have gotten the Tres Leches Cake. Strongly recommend!”

“My wife and I were in town for the "Beyond Van Gogh" exhibit at the Mid-America Center. Afterward, we looked up restaurants near us and chose La Sierra because several reviews mentioned authentic cuisine. We were not misled. The menu is small and straight forward. Pick your fillings and choose it in either a gordita, burrito, quesadilla or on a plate. We both got selections as gorditas. My wife ordered: Asado De Puerco, Picadillo Verde and Picadillo Rojo. I ordered: Papas Con Carne, Papas Con Chorizo and Deshabrada. I also wound up getting a burrito with Machaca. All the meats were seasoned nicely and delicious. Both the verde and rojo salsas they brought out enhanced the food. The rojo does have a kick (same sauce as in the Desshbrada) but the heat didn't linger so eating it was enjoyable. The margarita I ordered was delicious, made with real lime juice. Some people might complain because it is regular sized, served in a glass roughly the size of a martini glass. It isn't a gigantic gimmick you find in a lot of American-Mexican restaurants. It hit the spot! The fruit empanadas were lovely, the crust similar to a sugar cookie with strawberry or apricot. We tried both and thought the apricot won by a hair. Its sweet flavor was slightly stronger than the strawberry. The service was excellent, both our server and the gentleman from the kitchen (maybe owner) who brought out food to the table were extremely friendly and a pleasure to speak with. We've marked La Sierra in our "must do again" list and when we care back in Omaha, we will be stopping in.”

“While staying in downtown Omaha, my husband and I walked from Hotel Indigo to Block 16 and quickly understood why there was a crowd both outside and inside when we arrived around 6:00 PM.
We ordered at the counter and found the process easy and efficient. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. We especially appreciated being told about free refills and being checked on to ensure we were enjoying our meal and overall experience.
We shared a grilled cheese sandwich and the Funky Fungi Fries. Both were outstanding. The flavors were distinct, creative, and clearly intentional. The portions were generous enough for a hungry individual but also worked perfectly for sharing between two people, which is exactly what we did.
What impressed us most was how well everything came together. Despite the restaurant being busy, the food quality, service, and overall experience never seemed to suffer.
Block 16 is an easy recommendation for anyone visiting Omaha. Great food, friendly staff, generous portions, and a restaurant that clearly understands why people keep coming back.”

Fast forward to my bff coming out from NY n here for Christmas n we decided to go out on 12/28 n try again & yay we were able to finally get in! The place is so elegant n beautiful & has a very classy comfortable feeling to it - I knew I would 💜 it! At the bar talking about my quest n fail of trying to come here for my bday a few weeks ago, sitting next to me was the bar manager Carmen - she said she'd buy me a shot n I was like "oh cool", I never saw it so thought she was just being nice n a totally forgot n I thought 'its ok, no biggie"....then I go to pay my bill & turns out she picked up my 1st round of drinks - so extremely super sweet of her & I appreciated that n her so much. It is an adorable restaurant. We ordered wine and their wood fired pizzas. It was delicious. I am a pizza fan, but I normally do not eat the crust. The crust was delicious and we both finished the entire pizza. Our server was awesome. If we lived near by we would definitely go back. We both highly recommend it.”
