“A Total Vegan Oasis in Omaha!
I cannot say enough good things about Amateur Coffee. Finding a 100% vegan shop that is this high-quality felt like finding a little oasis.
Here is why you need to go:
The Food & Drink: Both the coffee and the waffles were absolute works of art—and they tasted even better than they looked! Everything is handmade and delicious, with incredible gluten-free options that didn't feel like an afterthought.
Planet First: I was so impressed by their commitment to being minimal waste. They use reusable cups for to-go orders (or you can bring your own). It’s clear they deeply care about the earth and their impact on it.
The Vibe: The atmosphere is thoughtful, kind, and fun. You can tell they love people just as much as they love the planet.
Special Shoutout to David: David, is truly the best type of human. He was so kind and caring, taking the time to make us feel like important humans rather than just another transaction. He gave us fantastic suggestions for exploring Omaha and tips on which parts of the zoo to hit!
My only complaint? I don’t live next door! If you are in Omaha, this is a must-visit.

“Honestly, I don’t understand some of the flack this coffee shop receives.
I’ll start by saying the coffee is absolutely amazing. I came here everyday for 6 days straight as I stayed in an Airbnb down the street. I’m from LA, and have been to multiple coffee shops with the same presence as Blue Line Coffee and they make GREAT COFFEE. My girlfriend and I had on our first visit the Banana Cinnamon Iced Italian Soda, along with a spiced seasonal coffee blend. Their espresso is amazing, and I enjoyed an Abi Spiced Espresso Nog (could be getting the naming wrong in this one). Overall pleased with the drink options.
The atmosphere of the shop is busy, and there was never a dull moment but what can you say the space is home and hella locals stop in and linger doing their day long work so it’s crowded in moments but people are friendly enough to offer space to others. It reminded me of coffee shops in likeness to some of my favorite places in Milwaukee, spots along Mississippi Ave in Portland, and Aurora Coffee in Atlanta.. to be honest it’s just cluttered with love and the community makes the space what it is.
The baristas and staff are very friendly lively and lovely to speak with. Everyone was patient and the loose dogs wandering in moments was an extra +++++
Would highly recommend. Grab a seasonal item they put in a lot of thought in their drinks you can tell. Going back for the apple sauce donut!

“This place was like a warm hug signed a Christian, lesbian, black woman. I visited Omaha for a wedding, I'm from metro GA btw. It's so inclusive, so welcoming. The staff was so friendly. They had great books, teas, and other knickknacks. If you go in the fall try the pumpkin chai latte with a shot of espresso . Thank me later 😌“

“A wonderful place to have a coffee and chat. Food was delicious and they made my coffee as I requested which was a mocha chino, not on the menu, but treated it as a mocha for pricing and made it special for me. This location has a special place in my heart because its where my girlfriend and I first met in person.“

“I had the Gratitude coffee, a gingerbread flavored craft coffee. It is honestly one of the best coffees I have ever had and I frequent scooters and Starbucks and have no hesitation saying that. The owners and staff are extremely helpful, courteous and welcoming. I will most certainly be coming back.“

“Went in & got an iced stardust smore coffee & an iced white chocolate latte. Both were extremely good (smore was a little more bitter than I would like but I am a sweeter coffee person so personal preference). Cashier was efficient & lovely, and the atmosphere was very cozy“

“They were out of the prickly pear drink that I normally order so I tried the raspberry it was pretty strong I'm not sure if the mixture was exactly right to recipe I had had it once before however when they finally did come to the window they did bring a straw and then they headed out the drink and don't really expect much more than these days. “I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SCOOTERS!! I will never ever go to another scooters. The people are amazing and the drinks are always amazing! I have never had to wait in line longer than 3 minutes before, unlike at the previous scooters that I went to. I will recommend this location to everyone I know!“

I like this location because it definitely has third place vibes. You can go there and feel like you’re in public space because on the dock you have access to Archetype, Sweet Mags, Kros Strain, & others
I love that it’s a shared space!
You can also get coffee to go and sit outside on “the Prairie” just south of the Ashton building“

“I’ve been debating leaving a review for a while because I’m scared this hidden gem will be found and the lines will skyrocket. This place is amazing, the staff are always very personable. I’ve tried most everything on the menu out of curiosity and I haven’t found an item that wasn’t great quality. My preferred latte is the Protein Iced Latte!! The most I’ve ever waited for my items has been approx. 8 minutes and that was with a full drive thru line. There is usually never a line and it is open later than what you’d expect.“

We were confused by the new floated dirty sodas. The app said it as a vanilla cream float and that sounded good!! I ordered on the app and when I picked it up, it looked creamy so I asked what the vanilla cream was and the woman told me it was just ice blended in. That confused me because it looked and tasted creamy!
The second time, when I picked one up, it didn’t look creamy at all. I asked the woman about it and she also said it doesn’t have anything creamy added in. Only blended ice. But it definitely looked different from the first! And this one didn’t have a creamy taste.
I’m pretty sure the floated dirty sodas should have a vanilla cream added in? But they told me no.“

“Would be a 5 stars if they had donuts actually stocked. My family and I used to fancy this place often. The last three times we have went, they were practically out of everything. I understand that's the point! You want to sell out, but at 9:45 in the morning I should have more of a choice than 3 different flavors. I honestly don't know if we will be back because of this. We drive 25 minutes to come here and it's just been a let down lately. Never the less the donuts are fabulous, don't ever change the recipe! I just can't keep driving and having my family be let down with the little bit of choice.“

“Delicious!! Finally got to try these wonderful hand pies after following on socials for awhile. Made the trip to Omaha and tried a savory dill and hashbrown pie and a bourbon peach pie. Also purchased several frozen to bring back home. Great flavor and the service was fantastic. Super cute shop too. Will return every trip to Omaha to try more of the delicious flavors.“
