Went here with a friend for his 30th birthday. It was a fantastic dinner. The food was delicious, the drinks were delicious, the service was impeccable. Obviously it's a bit pricey, but I really can't recommend it enough just as an experience. We are already making plans to come back again in the future.
A one-of-a-kind experience hosted by David Utterback and his wonderful team. It makes for a wonderful date night, we're lucky to have this experience in Omaha.
I’m writing this review for my husband, because he hasn’t stopped talking about the chef’s choice, Omakase, dinner he experienced with a fellow foodie family member. We’ve been to this restaurant several times, and it never disappoints, but this was the first time one of us had the chance to meet the head chef.

Ota offers an exceptional omakase experience that transports guests to a culinary wonderland. The sushi is undeniably fresh and among the best you can find in Omaha—perhaps the only truly authentic omakase experience in Nebraska. The balance of flavor and ingenuity is accompanied by the absolute highest quality of ingredients, from true fresh wasabi to top-grade wagyu with caviar.
While the food is outstanding, the ambiance can sometimes feel disrupted by loud conversations in the compact space, making it less serene than traditional omakase settings. Still, Chef Utterback’s world-class skill and entertaining presence create an intimate, easy-going experience that leaves guests feeling like friends rather than customers. The cost may seem high, but it’s a deal for such a unique culinary journey—one that might bring tears to your eyes. A chance to dine at Ota's counter is unforgettable, though the atmosphere may not always match the perfection of the sushi.
