“I've been told to go to J Gilberts for years now. Very happy I finally had the chance. I loved the prix fixe menu options. The wedge salad was amazing along with my prime strip. Cooked to perfection and crazy flavorful. Finished with a delicious creme brulee. I flipped a coin for my starter cocktail and would definitely try the smoked old fashioned next time.“
“We had a party of two to celebrate a job offer, and the service was outstanding. I had made a special request for a congratulations table setting, and I was so appreciative of their efforts. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We each did the Prix Fixe menu, trying an array of the items. We also added wine pairings and a few cocktails (Jameson & the Giant Peach was fabulous).Pictured are the Angus hanging tender, yuzu creme brulee, and chocolate cheesecake. It's true - they taste even better than they look. I highly recommend the Caesar salad as an option on the Prix Fixe too. We are excited to return for our special occasions.“
“I can’t give this place enough stars, my wife and I came here on March 9th for her birthday and it blew us away. Before our visit here we had never been to a high end restaurant and we have 0 regrets about it. The food is absolutely amazing, the staff were absolutely amazing, even the other guests were great. It was nice going out and not seeing everyone glued to their phones. Our waitress was Shelby and she was on top of everything, very polite, continuously doing rounds checking on her tables, we never once had to wait for a refill on drinks or anything else. There was a guy (I assumes manager of some sort but possibly not) going around and talking to everyone after they had their food for a while and making sure they were 100% happy with everything. His exact words were “if there is anything that isn’t absolutely perfect let me know and we will make it right” and that was the exact feeling we received from every employee we encountered. The only downfall I could say is they have their tables a little too close together for my liking but I’m sure it’s a must when a place puts out this quality of food and service. We can not wait until we are able to visit again.“
“This place was cool. The food was good. The atmosphere was Melo, too. I ordered ceviche, and it was okay, but I have had better, but I guess everyone makes it different. Frozen margaritas were tasty, too. Surprisingly, this was my first time going, and I will definitely go again.“
“It was super busy so I thought It would be a slow service at the bar but Cassie acknowledged me within the minute and took great care of all of us! Didn’t feel rushed, everything was timely, and the salmon burger was sooo good! Couldn’t get a pic because my phone was dying, but the host charged it for me! Great food and Staff! I’ll def stop by the next time I’m in Omaha!“
“I’ve been coming here for years now and have never had a bad experience. The blackened chicken sandwich is the best I’ve had in Omaha! We came here for lunch on Sunday and was excited to see the new brunch menu. I got the basic brunch and it was nothing short of perfect. Everything was cooked perfectly and was so full of flavor. Can’t wait to come back and try everything on the brunch menu!!“
“We don't get to go out like we used to (money doesn't go very far any more), so we treated our daughter with her choice of meals for making honor roll. She chose Shuck's as her fave. Food was great (we had the angry crab linguini, blackened chicken Alfredo and seared salmon, along with calamari and oysters Rockefeller for apps). They made a goof on the apps, forgetting to put the order in, but they made it right and our special night remained special. Always a super friendly staff, so even with the goof we'd have gone back for another special family night out.“
“The vibe of Isla del Mar is fantastic. It feels like a south of the border fiesta every time. The menu provides lots of choices, and the service is attentive. We had drinks with dinner in the past, which added to the fun, but today was lunch, so no drinks. All in all a good visit, and at first, the mariachi band added to the vibe in a good way. It got to be a little much as they seemed to be REALLY loud and right on top of our table for our whole visit, making it hard to converse and hard to enjoy the music too.“
“Another great experience this afternoon. I decided to "mix and match" and had the colossal shrimp cocktail, char-bbq wings, and a cup of gumbo. Everything was so good!! The gumbo was piping hot and full of ingredients, the shrimp were in fact colossal, and the bone-in wings were meaty and perfectly charred and flavorful. Want to go back next week and order the same items!“
“Ordered through DoorDash and food arrived piping hot and oh so tasty! ? We had pad Thai and egg rolls and they were perfect! The spice level was on the low side, so mild fans like me should love it but you might be a little disappointed if you want a lot of spice.“
“Wheeeeeweeeee! Best catfish we have had since moving to Omaha! Got a combo plate which came with amazing shrimp as well and also includes sides. The green beans and fried okra are both divine!! Went on a Friday and they were slammed, but I’d do it again. Excellent food!“
“My partner and I went there on a date night a few months back.Cibo Vino is kinda mid, in my opinion. It relies on its wine selection and location to appeal to people, and the food kinda falls short. Lemme tell you why. It’s on one of the busier intersections in the Old Market, just across the street from Upstream and La Buvette. The ambience is lovely. Low, intimate lighting with a lot of really cool artwork and decor. The bar is beautifully designed, and our bartender was cool.Good selection of wine, and not too terribly priced if you’re getting it by the glass.Food and plating, however, was what made it mid.For a restaurant in a prime location serving food that’s anywhere from 25-35 bucks a plate, you’d expect some diversity in the flatware with a little bit of artful plating. Every dish came out on the same size plate, tossed onto the middle of it with no real thought. We got two slices of their rosemary focaccia for an appetizer, and it tasted like they had thrown a bunch of rosemary onto the fire before they grilled it. The flavor of rosemary was almost overpowering, bordering on bitter. Good texture and crunch, but Jesus was it herby. We got their bucatini amatriciana to split as well, and here is where the ‘real’ review of their food begins. While the ingredients of the dish were all there, they weren’t really combined. The pasta was cooked well, but there was next to no starch in the actual pasta. This tells me one thing: cheap pasta. It felt as if they’re just ordering large quantities of pasta from Sysco, par cooking it before service, then reheating in boiling water to sell. As a result, the ingredients of the sauce; the tomatoes, the guanciale, and the pecorino cheese, didn’t really have anything to bond them together. The basis of flavor was there, but the execution and prep work kinda blew it. Could use more salt, as well. For mains, we had the lemon chicken piccata and the hunter’s chicken cacciatore.Chicken piccata was flavorful and cooked well. The lemon was bright and delicious, but the sauce had slightly split. This tells me it was either unattended to on the line, or it cooled down while waiting to be brought to the table. However, my issue with the pasta arises once more. It felt like the penne it was served with was par cooked prior to service, reheated, and dumped onto a plate with the piccata coming off of sauté and on top of it all. The lack of starch was apparent. The pasta and sauce weren’t married very effectively, and it felt like I had to dip the pasta in the sauce to get an effective bite. Flavors were good -fantastic even- but the execution is where it lacks.Cacciatore was delicious. Flavor was fantastic, and the chicken was juicy and tender. HOWEVER, the sauce was missing something. The flavors were there, but the texture fell short. The mushrooms were canned, or at least it felt like they were. Now, I understand it is impossible to acquire fresh porcini mushrooms year round, but this is where you have to ADAPT. If porcinis aren’t available, switch to a fresh mushroom you can get quickly. Cremini would be fine, and those things can grow year round indoors. The mushroom gravy was tasty, if a bit lacking in salt. But the real star of the show was the polenta. It was blended beautifully with the pecorino, and was light, creamy, and fluffy. Good stuff.Dessert was the panna cotta. No complaints. Tasty and delicious.Overall, I have one main criticism for Cibo Vino:Make your own pasta. The experience was lovely, but I can tell that the main focus of the restaurant is shifted towards the wine, considering the chef was sitting two tables over speaking to a pair of sommeliers/wine dealers(?) as opposed to running expo. The food feels like an afterthought. Like someone decided to open a wine bar but said: “I need to serve food too!” The menu is classic Italian pasta fare, and somehow, they’ve managed to just barely miss the mark.I will say again; Cibo Vino, make your own damn pasta.“
“I was awful about taking pictures but that’s because we gobbled everything down so fast. Hearty, well seasoned, it felt like I was eating in someone’s home. It was phenominal and we will be coming here much more frequently. Service was fast and our food got to us fast. The mantu and sambusas are MUST HAVES and my husband loved the lulya kabob (I didn’t get a picture because I was eating and by the time I finished, he had eaten it all.)The jasmine tea I got was spectacular. Truly I cannot rave enough. Please try them out if you’ve never had central Asian cuisine!“
“I award La Isla FIVE (5) stars. The food is pricey, but it is worth it. I am under the impression this Mexican restaurant specializes in seafood. I ate the langostino (little lobster) platter and churros with ice cream. The service was excellent and attentive. I am not aware of any issues to report.“
“I had gone to a bonefish in Chicago about 8yrs ago and wasn't impressed and then we received a gift card so we went again and our experience was great. Cocktails were well made and dinner was fantastic. Waiter recommendations and explanations were great.“
“I've been meaning go visit this restaurant for quite some time and finally ended up in the neighborhood today, and decided to give it a try. I placed a pick up order and was pleasantly surprised. The place was nice, clean and had a dedicated pick up area upon entry. Service was quick and the ladies up front were very nice and showed me gratitude for patronizing their business. Now, as far as the food is concerned, like my kids say- THAT FOOD WAS BUSSIN! Worth EVERY penny! It was so good I smashed those meaty, succulent crab legs without as much as taking a break. I couldn't stop eating them! Easy to Crack open the meat came out in one piece so I could dip it in that yummy gravy.... oh boy! That's a place to celebrate special occasions and enjoy s great meal with the ones you love they will NOT be disappointed! I promise you will love this place. My new name for them is Crab GO!“
“Wife had the breaded pork tenderloin, she liked it but needs a little work on seasoning and thickness of the meat. She likes a thicker one. I had the trashcan nachos, these were very good, could have been even better if the cheese sauce was thicker as well...had a watery consistency....but the habenero sauce was delicious.“
“Our favorite place food is always delicious, fast, and good value for the price. Only thing I wish is for more gluten free options for my gluten free friends. There are gluten free options on the menu but I feel like they're missing out on some of the best recipes when we all get together. Still, this is the best place in Omaha and we've been dining here since I was a child. No other place can compare“
“Tavern is a great vibe for all occasions. I usually do a Friday happy hour or weekend dinner here. Their espresso martinis are the best in town and the parmesan chicken is my favorite. They have a great variety of food and the atmosphere is definitely more upscale the name suggests.“
“Eleyanna was awesome and extremely attentive during my visit. Food was well prepared and tasted great. The Scampi is a win every time and this Red Lobster location hasn't disappointed under the current manager of this location. They do an awesome job catering for events too!“
“Jaipur was recommended to my wife and I by our friends and it definitely did not let us down. To start off, the owner and chef of the restaurant greeted us at our table and went through some of the favorites and also gave us personalized recommendations based on what we like and have had before. They were able to take the spice level down for my wife who wouldn’t have liked the normal spiciness of the vindaloo. On top of that, the food came out very quickly and was DELICIOUS. My wife and I tried the Chicken Tikka Madras and the Lamb Vindaloo. We also had the chicken tikka spinach dip bread to start. The entrees are big enough to share 1 between two people, but we enjoyed trying a couple. This restaurant is a must try if you haven’t been before. It will not disappoint! The food and service are top notch.“
“This has continued to be a pizzeria in Oak View mall over the years, just different names. Now it's called Pizzeria El Portal. The slices are a thin crust, oven fire style cooked pizza. I'd say similar to. NY thin crust, large slices. Flavor was very good and filling, with the price being reasonable as well. I'd choose this over the other few options left at this mall for a simple lunch that'll fill you up. They also offer Stromboli's and salads in addition to their variety of pizza slices. Various bottled drinks are offered here in addition to coke products.“
“To go order on this visit, atmosphere was fantastic, customer service was excellent, food is always yummy and Gluten-free is a top priority at this location! A must visit to try everything! Our favorite appetizers are calamari and shrimp! Oysters are fantastic!“
“I am just gonna start with this. GET THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS!!! We had a reservation and expected it to be jammin. It was not, and that was just fine with us. We were seated immediately (at a very wobbly table) by a super helpful lady that quickly returned with water. The booth we opted for was clean and the table was too. It only took our server a few moments to arrive to take our drink order. Either she was super sleepy or super high and it showed. She had no idea of the drink choices, especially the beers on tap. I chose a beer in a can and asked for a glass, my wife chose a beer in a bottle and asked for a glass as well. The server returned with 2 glasses and my beer and then read off the drink list. I ordered the Fried clams and asked for the wife's beer. It took a bit, but the beer arrived with the clams. The fried clams are a good sized dish, the breading is good and there are fried clams in there. I promise. The tarter sauce that comes with the clams tastes good, real fresh tasting. I was hoping there were a few specials, but our server wasn't able to tell us about them. I ordered the Flank steak, Rare. I asked if the cous cous could be subbed with the Brussel Sprouts and was told, Absolutely. I also chose to add shrimp to my plate. The lobster risotto was the wife's choice. We did not wait long at all for our meals. The flank steak was prepared perfectly for my liking and the mustard sauce, shrimp and the cippolini onions were delicious. The Brussel sprouts were to die for, simply amazing. So good, I can not speak more highly of them. Smashing good. The risotto was a good sized portion, crazy rich, super good with a lot of lobster. The small lobster portion on the top was a bummer, It was well over cooked and tasted old and dry. Our server was sleepy, but offered us dessert and again she needed to read from a menu once she fetched one. We got the Blueberry pie and the Lemon panna cotta. Holy crap the panna cotta was fantastic. It had a great texture and just full of the lemon flavor that I love. The pie center was good, lots of blueberries. The crust of the mini pie was almost hard. It looked flaky, but it was not. The ice cream that accompanied the pie was tasty and plentiful. I recommend Sand Point and look forward to going back.“
“We were there on a busy Friday night to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday and it was a wonderful experience. Our server, Jack was amazing!! Very attentive and had a great demeanor! Food and drinks were fantastic as well. We were here visiting from California. We will definitely be back on our next visit.“
“Took my mom here around noon on a Saturday. Wasn’t busy and were greeted and seated promptly. Our food was decent but what really blew me away was our server. She was OUTSTANDING and her personality really made our experience one to remember. Her name was Lacy and I highly recommend requesting to sit in her section if you come here. As someone that works in the industry you could really tell she loves working there and honestly … give that girl a raise! Thank you red lobster and thank you “Queen B” Lacy!“
“We had fried calamari -awesome calamari, tasted fresh, I had to ask if it was air fried because I could not taste the cooking oil on it, it is fried in oil. - we ordered the Minnesota style walleye and the fried Haddock. Everything we ordered was some form of fried, and it awesome. No dripping oil, no strong fishy taste, just beautiful, fresh, and filling. The portions are insane for the price. If I had not walked in with an empty stomach I would have needed a to go box. The server was nice and friendly, helped us with quick action. If I had to choose one negative aspect of the meal, the most I could say is it "felt" like it took a little longer to get our entrées, maybe 2-4 minutes. And when I saw the food I knew it must have been due to using fresh ingredients. Everything looked made from scratch, and tasted just as good. If you want fish for dinner, COME HERE!“
“Some of my coworkers were talking about this place having the best Blackened shrimp and grit in Omaha; so I thought I come try it for myself. This place is perfectly located on the corner of Maple St and Lynn Av in the old BENSON area. They have some a small designated parking lot, and there is additional parking along the street too. The restaurant is spacious, very nicely decorated with a very nice selection of music playing. The lady at the counter was very friendly and offered several suggestions.I finally decided to get the catfish, blackened shrimp with green beans, yams and a side of grits…. OH MY GOD was I surprised with my first sample of everything on my plate. The menu is a bit busy…but once you take a second to sort through it, you will see that they have a very nice selection for everybody preference.Overall summary = Everything was perfectly cook and tasted great! I will definitely be returning to try other things on the menu..THE CATFISH - was cooked perfectly; seasoned well, cooked properly and seasoned to perfection.THE BLACKENED SHRIMP - was juicy, flavorful and also cooked perfectly. I would have liked to have a larger shrimp for my order but those that I received were just fine.THE YAMS - were cubed, and cooked perfectly; very tender with a glaze on them that was perfect.....not too sweet, it had a nice balance of seasoning with a very sticky icky good-good coating.THE GREEN BEANS - were nicely cooked and were also seasoned very nicely.I also had their “Who dat punch” and it was on the sweet side, but definitely a nice addition to my meal. Note: (they offer “free” refills), so be sure to get you a glass togo.“
“My husband and I went there late afternoon early evening. We just had a believe if I remember correctly, the regular spaghetti with the meat sauce and I got to tell you, I thought it was on best red sauces I’ve ever had. The homemade pasta was hot, fresh and al dente. The service was superb.“
“The catfish was tasty. Everything was cooked as we waited. Fried okra was the best I’ve had In a long time. Everything was freshly cooked. Not a bad place to grab some fish. They were out of chicken wings.Kid-friendliness: The host treated my son very kind. Let him try greens for the first time. Kind man.“
“Loved all the food. Our first waitress was either super busy or did not pay attention. Another young man seen us looking lost and helped us. He was amazing. I don't want to butcher his name but started with a J. Great place will be returning for another sushi boat.“
