“My wife and I were in town for the "Beyond Van Gogh" exhibit at the Mid-America Center. Afterward, we looked up restaurants near us and chose La Sierra because several reviews mentioned authentic cuisine. We were not misled. The menu is small and straight forward. Pick your fillings and choose it in either a gordita, burrito, quesadilla or on a plate. We both got selections as gorditas. My wife ordered: Asado De Puerco, Picadillo Verde and Picadillo Rojo. I ordered: Papas Con Carne, Papas Con Chorizo and Deshabrada. I also wound up getting a burrito with Machaca. All the meats were seasoned nicely and delicious. Both the verde and rojo salsas they brought out enhanced the food. The rojo does have a kick (same sauce as in the Desshbrada) but the heat didn't linger so eating it was enjoyable. The margarita I ordered was delicious, made with real lime juice. Some people might complain because it is regular sized, served in a glass roughly the size of a martini glass. It isn't a gigantic gimmick you find in a lot of American-Mexican restaurants. It hit the spot! The fruit empanadas were lovely, the crust similar to a sugar cookie with strawberry or apricot. We tried both and thought the apricot won by a hair. Its sweet flavor was slightly stronger than the strawberry. The service was excellent, both our server and the gentleman from the kitchen (maybe owner) who brought out food to the table were extremely friendly and a pleasure to speak with. We've marked La Sierra in our "must do again" list and when we care back in Omaha, we will be stopping in.“

“Gotta give a shout out to the crew last night. This restaurant was amazing. 1st time trying it. They were so accommodating. We had a group of 16 people for graduation dinner. They worked so hard to seat us all together. They were such a friendly group. They let us all sit at the bar while we waited on our table. It was a wonderful experience dining here. “I arrived at 8:15pm tonight & they were mopping the whole restaurant floor it was wet everywhere no biggie figured they were just cleaning up a little bc of COVID. I asked “are you closing early?” The young lady said “no we close at 10pm” I said ok great. I get up to order for my daughter and I and they said they were out of chicken for the night. I looked down and a lot of the containers were close to empty or empty too. The lady behind me also asked for something & they said they were out of that too. The grills were off and multiple staff were just standing around. If you close at 10pm why are you done cooking for the night at 8:15pm? Doesn’t make sense. If it was 9:15pm I could kinda understand.. Anyway I drove across the street to Chipotle & the lady behind me left also. I hope tonight was a one time thing bc that sucks if that happens regularly.“

“The food is the best! Definitely tasted like home. It's a traditional family restaurant. The son speaks English and Spanish. Mom works the grill like a pro! Get the casadilla! And the frescas are spot on! I got casadilla chorizo taco mangonada and tea and tipped for like 25$ its was too much for one but my eyes were bigger than my tummy. Took home the leftovers for a second meal and still couldn't finish it all. Worth every single cent!“

“Astonishing does not describe our experience at Santoro. We had been long-time patron of Rivera's and have been looking forward to trying this since Santoro was announced. It surpassed every expectation we had. The new dishes were sublime. The Steak Aguachile was complex, the Pork Shank was fall off the bone delicious and my wife's shrimp was perfection. “Tried a new Mexican restaurant in omaha. Was a good experience. The atmosphere was very nice. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and was not busy. They are very generous with the chips and salsa and offer a very good cheese dip. The menu had a lot to offer and the portions were big. Most of our party took at least half of our meal home. The prices were reasonable for the portion size. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our server was very attentive and refilled our drinks often. Overall a good experience and would come back. If you are in west omaha and are looking for a meal, this is worth the try.“

“Everything about this place was good the staff was amazing and friendly!!! The food servings were plentiful. The restrooms were clean and away from any sitting area so nobody had to sit by the restrooms!! The prices were reasonable they do have handicapped parking and the entrance does have ramps to get up to it. Do not have handicap automatic doors so if you need help with that bring someone with you or call the restaurant to see if someone can help. Otherwise a great place to take yourself or your family to eat. I forgot to write that the staff do speak both Spanish and English.“

“The carne asada and carnitas were spot on, however I was a bit disappointed. A typical Mexican restaurant will include lime wedges, radishes and sometimes jalapenos. Nothing. I later noticed these items on the menu for an additional cost, do you have to pay for them? I hope not. I was also not expecting canned cheese or jarred salsa with my chips. Usually a red salsa with cilantro and a creamy smooth cheese sauce is served. It was no different than what you get with nachos at a concession stand. Not the same as the South O location......“

I guess what I am saying is you don’t know what you’ve got until you can’t get it. So, for this loyal customer, I consider this the best Mexican food ever. “My new favorite taco truck! Super friendly male working tonight, didn’t catch his name. Offered to bring my food out when it was ready. My steak quesadilla supreme was stuffed full and so flavorful. Unlike other taco trucks the steak was quality and not overly chewy 🙌🏼 I could drink the guac sauce alone 🔥 Can’t wait to try the Birria next. 10/10 recommend“

Well when I took my lunch and was getting my bowl that I ordered mixed up I found a hair deep in the middle... 😭😭 I know it’s not mine because this hair was blonde and I am a brunette. So disappointed I cannot eat my lunch today. I also see a picture of an employee on this page serving food with her hair down and no hair net. If this is the norm I will not return to this company. That is disgusting and against health code.“
