Great food and super nice guys running it.“

“The food was hot. I don't care for a lot of breading on my food. I told them to keep the little hush puppies because I don't like them. They don't need to add the little pieces of extra dropping. Don't know what they are and don't like them either.The food has changed in the last 10 years.“
“I've been told to go to J Gilberts for years now. Very happy I finally had the chance. I loved the prix fixe menu options. The wedge salad was amazing along with my prime strip. Cooked to perfection and crazy flavorful. Finished with a delicious creme brulee. I flipped a coin for my starter cocktail and would definitely try the smoked old fashioned next time.“
“I can’t give this place enough stars, my wife and I came here on March 9th for her birthday and it blew us away. Before our visit here we had never been to a high end restaurant and we have 0 regrets about it. The food is absolutely amazing, the staff were absolutely amazing, even the other guests were great. It was nice going out and not seeing everyone glued to their phones. Our waitress was Shelby and she was on top of everything, very polite, continuously doing rounds checking on her tables, we never once had to wait for a refill on drinks or anything else. There was a guy (I assumes manager of some sort but possibly not) going around and talking to everyone after they had their food for a while and making sure they were 100% happy with everything. His exact words were “if there is anything that isn’t absolutely perfect let me know and we will make it right” and that was the exact feeling we received from every employee we encountered. The only downfall I could say is they have their tables a little too close together for my liking but I’m sure it’s a must when a place puts out this quality of food and service. We can not wait until we are able to visit again.“
“It was super busy so I thought It would be a slow service at the bar but Cassie acknowledged me within the minute and took great care of all of us! Didn’t feel rushed, everything was timely, and the salmon burger was sooo good! Couldn’t get a pic because my phone was dying, but the host charged it for me! Great food and Staff! I’ll def stop by the next time I’m in Omaha!“
“We don't get to go out like we used to (money doesn't go very far any more), so we treated our daughter with her choice of meals for making honor roll. She chose Shuck's as her fave. Food was great (we had the angry crab linguini, blackened chicken Alfredo and seared salmon, along with calamari and oysters Rockefeller for apps). They made a goof on the apps, forgetting to put the order in, but they made it right and our special night remained special. Always a super friendly staff, so even with the goof we'd have gone back for another special family night out.“
“Me and my boyfriend love to try new places. Let me say wow! Because this place was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and rich in flavor. Service was kind and attentive. The space was very clean and well lit, it had a good vibe. We didn’t get pictures of everything (too busy eating) but for appetizers we had scallop cakes and their acadian butter wings. As our main entree we had the blackened black tiger shrimp po boy with corn bread, side of gouda mac n cheese and dirty rice. Can’t forget dessert! Finished with a crème brulee. It was all amazing! This place did not disappoint, every bite of the different dishes were all delicious! We will definitely be going back and often!“
“The vibe of Isla del Mar is fantastic. It feels like a south of the border fiesta every time. The menu provides lots of choices, and the service is attentive. We had drinks with dinner in the past, which added to the fun, but today was lunch, so no drinks. All in all a good visit, and at first, the mariachi band added to the vibe in a good way. It got to be a little much as they seemed to be REALLY loud and right on top of our table for our whole visit, making it hard to converse and hard to enjoy the music too.“

However, as we ate our dinner, a young man came in and was told the kitchen was closed (even though it was earlier than their posted closing time) because business was slow.So, you'll definitely want to call ahead to make sure the kitchen will be open if you are planning on going there on a week night.“
