Love this restaurant and the food is outstanding and we had a nice visit with the ownerHOWEVER we will not return due to the credit card surcharge and I do not care about any rationale for doing soIf operating expenses are high …RAISE YOUR PRICES and then I can decide how to spend my $$Such an unfortunate choice to charge your clientele ??

I was told by the g/f that we have tried this restaurant before, yet I do not remember ever going here. However, I know better than to argue, so here we are. Brushi is a beautiful little hideaway at the Westridge Shopping Center, located off of N.132nd St. and W. Dodge Frontage Rd. In Omaha. It's bistro style seating along with a small bistro style menu, consisting of a lot of great food. We both started off with their "Onion Soup Normandy". A creamy onion soup with Gruyère cheese and croutons. I chose the Hamburger for my main course, which was seasoned to perfection and cooked to medium rare. I do not eat the bun so I did away with that. She had the "Potato Gnocchi" with mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes in a cream sauce. Very delicious. Our waiter was very much Johnny on the spot with the water refills ( I only drink water ) and took very good care of us. The nicest touch though was when the chef came out and greeted the customers asking how their food was. That's class! We will definitely be going back and trying other items in the menu. Still on the hunt for that ever elusive bowl of amazing Pho!

I really wanted to love this place. The food is style over substance as in it is bland. We did notice the crowd average age was older, so maybe this caters to that palate. Presentation was stunning- it just didn'ttaste as good as it looked. Service was not great, though, that could be to being understaffed. I did overhear our waitstaff complain to the hotess to "quit seating peoole". We had reservations, but I'm not sure about anyone else. We waited 20 mins before our order was taken, then just about an hour for food. We sat at a cleared table for 20 minutes, never got our desert (she took it to go at the end), and had to ask our waitstaff for our check. He was at the table behind us, wrapping silverware or something. It wasn't awful, just wasn't great.

Really NOT a good place for happy hour. Bar only. Party of four? Good luck with #1 talking to #4! You ordered vegetable wraps? Sorry, didn't hear you; and it's 6:01, so no longer available. VERY FAR OFF of our future happy hour list, even though we live nearby. Nearly an infinite number of guest-friendly options everywhere around. Just our experience tonight. Try ANYWHERE ELSE! I recommend Pacific Eating House; we've NEVER been treated reudely there; or 402 at Village Pointe.

We went tonight for the first time (party of 4). We had a reservation and were seated immediately, but did not even place an appetizer order for more than 30 minutes. Our waiter was running like crazy and the place was clearly understaffed. We ended up getting our food after being there for 70 minutes (no, this is not an exaggeration). I think the most appropriate term for the entire experience is - Fine. Everything was fine - food was fine, atmosphere was fine, service was fine. None of it spectacular and some of it very questionable value for the price. The place is very much a euro vibe, with very pretty presentation and smaller portions. But all the food kind of fell flat in flavor. It was NOT bad, but also not impressive at all. I was pretty disappointed in the caprese appetizer for $14 - portion size, price, and taste. Caprese is one of my favorite things to order, especially Lo Sole Mio's (man I miss that place), and this one was a real let down comparatively. Since our server was so hectic, we literally had to flag down a host to get pepper (there is no salt or pepper on the table) as none was offered or available. We did not get refills (of soda or water) after our food was delivered. And finally, we ended up having to flag someone down to actually get our check after sitting at our table for nearly 15 minutes following all of our dishes being cleared away. We are foodies, we like going to try new places and we love finding gems in Omaha. Sadly, this experience was not one of our highlights and we will not return.

Superb food selection and I'm always looking for the chef's special. Excellent service with a relaxing atmosphere. This is my favorite restaurant in Omaha. I can't say too much because I want two places at the bar.

I personally will not return to Brushi. I went here after some positive reviews on local food review Facebook pages. However, I'm not sure what the fuss was about. The restaurant itself seems like a dated strip mall restaurant...probably because it is a dated strip mall restaurant. We went to happy hour at 4:00, and we were notified that for happy hour until 5:00 there is only bar seating, and you can only order off the happy hour menu. This wasn't a huge deal, but it's just odd. We ordered two drinks, a mule and a strawberry gin and tonic. Both were pretty decent. It was the food that fell short. We started with a chicken quesadilla. First, quesadilla is a generous term. It was tiny, made up of essentially two taco shells. My mom said "I thought this was supposed to be chicken?" because the filling was finely ground chicken that formed a pâté. It was very odd. There were lots of toppings, but they lacked flavor except for the ancho pepper sauce which tasted like hickory BBQ sauce. For $8, this was ridiculous. We were still hungry and decided to try the curry fries. If you've ever had Amsterdam Falafel and Kabob curry fries, you can imagine what I was expecting. However, that is not what we received. There was some kind of green seasoning...I don't know what it was, but it certainly wasn't curry (and it definitely wasn't salt, for that matter.) They were largely tasteless. The small side of chipotle mayo saved the day. Overall, this was a very lackluster experience. I think one issue comes from the lack of direction. Dumplings, quesadillas, sliders, curry fries...what is the theme here? I'd rather a restaurant pick something a do it really well.

I had high hopes. Food was OK but the service was extremely slow and inattentive. The drinks were watered down and expensive. $18 for a very small portion of Rombauer red wine? Given the number of choices in Omaha, I probably will not return.

First time diners at this restaurant. While the food was delicious, the Service was subpar and felt like we were being profiled due to our age (both of us in our younger 30s), dressed more casually and me personally, (being of color). Server never offered the daily specials, gave us the lunch menu instead of dinner and when asked if there was a dinner menu she seemed like it was an inconvenience to get the right menu. We received an eyebrow raise once the server realized we were paying with cash and left her with a holiday blessing.

Overall, the food was excellent. The service was on par with what you would expect. They have great dishes that are creative and full of flavor.
