The flavor here is good. I had one vegan sushi but t cost me $8. I do not think this sushi roll was worth $8.

Ashley and Eva were so kind and attentive at the bar on a Friday night even when we came in late! Ashley chatted with us, asked the cooks if they would make a roll even after the kitchen was closed and made us drinks! We are so appreciative of their service and will absolutely be back for more amazing food!

Was my first time trying butterfish! The food was very good but nothing too special! The wings were my favorite part, but the food did take a very long time to come out. They did forget one dish we had and then we got it about 10ish maybe 15 minutes after all the rest of the food. But a pretty good place!

Front of house was very professional during a busy evening. Sincere service. Food was predictable and tasty.

This is my favorite Sushi place in Omaha! I love the pork belly slider and the siracha honey wings for appetizers. The drinks are fantastic and with really balanced flavor, not too strong and not too flavorless, just perfect. The staff is always nice and attentive and they are always checking in on you to make sure you have everything. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Came for their Sunday afternoon happy hour. Great food and beverages. Great prices. Only issue was slow service. Fortunately, we were good on time. And then after 2 hours. We needed them to finish up as we did need To go then. As we had run out of time.

A beautiful sushi spot in Blackstone. If you’re looking for a cozy, upscale sushi restaurant…this is it. The music was low enough that we could feel relaxed and have a conversation. We started with some black tea and appetizers. We ordered spring rolls and steamed edamame and miso soup to start. Everything was presented so beautifully.

Butterfish has the best California roll, better than Tokyo in the Old Market and Unami in Bellevue. Happy hour price was $5. Also, stop in for the Spam Jam. Only in Omaha can you get a sushi roll made with, yes, Spam, that is pretty amazing. I wouldn’t want to eat a whole roll by myself, but definitely worth trying when sharing with friends.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. I ordered a few items from the happy hour menu to try a variety of items. Everything was super flavorful. The Rozu-Yuzu highball was refreshing and strong, yet balanced. Definitely a great whiskey-based cocktail for all you whiskey drinkers who want to try something different. Service was great as well. I will be back.

There is usually a table open or a very short wait to be seated. The prices are good and the food is good, too! The ambience of the booths is so fun and happy hour is great. Recommend!!!

Stopped in for a lunch date. Staff was very helpful and finding which delicious items we wanted more than others. I really just wanted to try the whole menu. Crab ragoon is usually lack luster, not this one. The filling, dough, and even the sauce on plate was delicious. The sushi was fantastic, I was blown away by the Firefly and Butterfish, both had such a depth of flavor. The torching of the Butterfish really changed the flavor of the roll and it was a nice touch. I will definitely be back to work away at the rest of the menu. Not one single misstep on the menu or service today.

We came here with a group of friends. Our waiter, Oscar, was took excellent care of us and had great recommendations for drinks and sushi. The sushi was excellent, and the fried rice was sublime. The drink menu had great options and the sake was excellent. They were very busy but once we were seated they were quick with everything. The ambiance was nice and they had a great playlist playing as well. Well worth the price, we had a great time, and will definitely be back.

Overall the food was great and our service was friendly. We ordered rolls with salmon thinking they would be raw but somehow they ended up being cook-ish? The rolls indicated there would be raw fish so we were a little confused. The rolls were very unique and delicious. Was unsure about the pico de Gallo on the Johnny Chimpo roll, but it ended up being my favorite roll of the night! The virgin mojito was very delicious too!

We ordered three items last night (1/29/2022): 1. Cashew chicken: This was the only item that was both good and prepared as described on the menu. 2. Blistered beans: These were good, but not as described on the menu as they did not include the 'sunchoke chips' indicated on the menu. I understand that restaurants that cook from scratch with fresh ingredients have to make adjustments for availability throughout the year. But sunchokes are a root vegetable in season from late fall through early spring, reaching their peak flavor in winter. So I am not sure why they would not have been available and included. Maybe the pandemic is to blame for the supply chain issue. But either way, there should have been a note on the menu or our server should have told us that the item would not be prepared as described. 3. Vegan mapo tofu: Mapo tofu traditionally is served in a generous quantity of thin, oily, bright red and highly-spiced sauce. The tofu is traditionally soft silken tofu. This tofu was brownish red and dried out. It tasted old, and maybe like it had been baked or deep fried hours before. It was served dry and not in a sauce. Not authentic at all. Cuisine from the Sichuan province generally, and especially this dish, are well-known for being very spicy with bold flavors. This was not very spicy and was quite mild. I could tell that the chef did use doubanjiang because I found some of the pieces of broad beans from the paste mixed in. But I could not detect any use of chili oil (again, the dish was very mild), or sichuan peppercorn as is both traditional and as was described on the menu. Sichuan peppercorn is unmistakable when used in a dish because of the hydroxy-alpha-sanshool compound that produces a tingling and numbing effect. Not sure why these spices that are essential to the dish would have been left out. You can buy sichuan peppercorns or sichuan peppercorn flavored oil easily in Omaha from the Asian Market at 76th and dodge. I am giving Butterfish 2 stars because at least the cashew chicken was decent and as described on the menu. Also their presentation of dishes with fresh microgreens sprouts was nice. If I return, I might try their sushi items to see if they are better quality. But I probably won't return.
