There are a lot of things to like about this place. The food is typically excellent, and their margaritas are not weak. The service is also very good most days.
I'm only taking off one star because the seafood can be a bit fishy/unfresh smelling at times, and you might get a lot of fat in some of the slow cooked meats, like the birria.

Love this place. Would give 5 stars, but the rice is stated gluten free and come to find out they use bouillon in it that contains wheat. Knorr contains gluten. Hoping they can fix this. Also when I first came there was more labeling on the menu for gluten free celiac safe options. That’s changed.

We celebrated my son’s 23rd birthday at Copal! This was our first time dining here and the entrees were delicious! Copal has a great menu with HUGE portions. My son ordered a steak and chicken burrito. My daughter had chicken quesadillas and I tried birria quesadillas-YUM! Diego was our patient and friendly waiter who checked on us often. Complimentary churros and ice cream with a song for the birthday guy!

This time we had Raul as our server and he was funny and played with my son, suggested a drink that we really enjoyed and had us covered even though it was busy. Love this place so much!
Catered at 40 attendees event authentic Mexican truly spicy salsa, the mole, chimichangas, margaritas, tequila, and wonderful atmosphere!
I had never had Cochinita Pibil tacos. So dang good. Like a perfect food. Seasoning tang salty all Perfect. Yum.
