We had tamales and enchiladas, the tamales were bad,I pray we don't get sick from the bad pork. The red sauce on the enchiladas had a very cinnamon taste not a fan. The lady serving us, brought us the bill and it was $51.00 I said to her the food was bad and we didn't eat it and you still want to charge me 51$ that is insane. No drinks ordered, just had water. If you decide to go here and think the food taste funny it's not in your head.
Absolutely horrible
I like this place for it’s simplicity. The servers are very nice and attentive. The food is ok. I expected a bit better but it’s not bad by any means. We came during Cinco de Mayo festival and I felt bad for the servers because they have a clear sign on the door that reads restrooms for customers only. It seemed like most of the night there were drunk kids coming in to use the bathrooms. We saw a pair come in and our server told them no. She was clearly upset but couldn’t really do anything.
My husband and I started dining at El Alamo back in the 1980’s. We got to the point that we ate there weekly. The food and staff are wonderful. We moved to WA in 2015 and I so miss everything about El Alamo and haven’t found anything that beats the food and service.
Menudo was not edible, weird flavor and the tripe tasted rubbery.
Absolutely REVOLTING food, I have never had such terrible Mexican food in my life. It tasted so bad I couldn't even eat it, I gagged on it when trying it. Immediately went all to the trash. Whoever runs this place and makes the food shouldn't be allowed to. It is disgraceful and horrid, if you have ever had real Mexican food... You won't dare eat here.
Everything depends on your expectations of course, but the food was not impressive. The avocado salad was poor, the chicken en salsa roja better (leave the rice - terrible!). Staff was *really* friendly and although the margaritas weren't fab, they also didn't burn a hole in your wallet. Area has good vibes.

Not the same. Many years ago, I loved the mole here. We were the only customers in the restaurant at noon. The bathrooms were out of service and the floors looked grungy. We had the chimichanga and mole. The food was not good.

We’ve been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. We love their authentic food! The atmosphere inside as well as the surrounding neighborhood are interesting and diverse. Finally, the owner and wait staff are very friendly and welcoming. It’s one of my favorite restaurants! You have to go there!
Kid-friendliness: My young son was always welcome years ago as I see children are today.
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is almost level with the sidewalk. There is a slight incline going into the door. Often, someone will hold the door open for you.

Utterly ignored by all staff for 30 minutes. Had to walk back into the kitchen to get someone. After we got their attention, service was fine. Restrooms were out of service. Chips were cold. Margaritas and bean burrito were good, but not great.
