I like this place for it’s simplicity. The servers are very nice and attentive. The food is ok. I expected a bit better but it’s not bad by any means. We came during Cinco de Mayo festival and I felt bad for the servers because they have a clear sign on the door that reads restrooms for customers only. It seemed like most of the night there were drunk kids coming in to use the bathrooms. We saw a pair come in and our server told them no. She was clearly upset but couldn’t...
My husband and I started dining at El Alamo back in the 1980’s. We got to the point that we ate there weekly. The food and staff are wonderful. We moved to WA in 2015 and I so miss everything about El Alamo and haven’t found anything that beats the food and service.
Everything depends on your expectations of course, but the food was not impressive. The avocado salad was poor, the chicken en salsa roja better (leave the rice - terrible!). Staff was *really* friendly and although the margaritas weren't fab, they also didn't burn a hole in your wallet. Area has good vibes.
