We got a few appetizers and entrees. The flavors of everything was spectacular. I was completely blown away by the flavors of even the small sides. The cole slaw was amazing, I would take a bucket of it to go. The fried chicken platter is to die for. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-27
We’re big Isa fans and were really bummed when Modern Love closed. We stopped by Fifth House while traveling home from KC. Our server was prompt and friendly and our food came quickly. We each got a different entree so we could share. All three were delicious! I can’t wait until we’re in town again.
The seitan buffalo wings were great! The ranch was spot-on. I found the portion size to be filling. Don’t skip the chocolate chip cookie. :)

Delicious! So glad this place is open after so much time without Modern Love. The menu is small but everything we got was great and the people were cool.

I've been looking forward to this place opening up ever since hearing it was on the horizon. Took my mother and fiancee to dinner over the weekend. They are definitely still working out the kinks. While the food was great, we found the service pretty lacking. Our waiter was nice, but not attentive. (While dining, we noticed another table actually got up and grabbed a water pitcher to refill their glasses because their waiter hadn't). To be fair they were very busy, and seemed to be short staffed. Understandable. It took a while to get our order in. We started with drinks and an appetizer. Two of our 3 drink orders came out, but then it took another 10 minutes or so for our 3rd drink to arrive. When our entrees came, again only 2 of the 3 arrived, and another 10 minutes for the 3rd entree to arrive. The food was tasty. The stand out was the butternut mac. Very good, but also a pretty small portion for the price. It seemed more like a side than an entree. I ordered the seitan pork chops. It was really good but the menu said it would come with mashed sweet potatoes, and it came with regular mashed potatoes. Also the side of brussel sprouts was literally 4 halves, pretty stingy. The apple slaw was really good. My fiancee ordered the fried oyster mushrooms, which was delicious once it finally arrived, but again took a while to come out and only once we followed up with a staff member. Also, it was missing the biscuit, and once that was eventually brought out the biscuit was cold in the middle, like it had been frozen and wasn't fully thawed out.
So overall, we liked the food and found they were still very much in the growing pains of a recent opening. I'll definitely give them another shot and update my review with my experience, because I really want this place to succeed.

We went during the brunch service. The staff was super nice and knowledgeable on their food. The Chilaquiles had a wonderful crunch from the pepitas and zippiness from the sauce. The atmosphere is relaxed and comforting, and if you have questions they are very gracious when they answer.

We came for brunch and had an amazing time! I had the french toast with seitan bacon and my partner had the chilaquiles. It was so good I forgot to take pictures! I've missed having a vegan place to go on date night since modern love closed. I can't wait to come back next week and try the pork chops!

Right when we entered, the manager, Trevor, greeted us with a warm smile! We were sat quickly and had amazing service. We ordered the Arancini for the appetizer and the second I bit into it I was met with a wonderful consistency and full of flavor. I could have had two more and called it my entree, it was so good.
When ordering our entrees, Trevor was kind and knowledgeable to our questions. I ordered the porq chops and my wife got the anti establishmentucky fried chicken (and yes we laughed as it was said out loud). The portions were wonderful. We left satisfied and full, but not over-stuffed. The flavor was outstanding with every bite.
As a vegetarian, it is difficult to find a good choice that provides me with plenty options. Fifth House fills that void splendidly.
10/10 looking forward to going back to try their other options!

As big fans of Modern Love (may it rest in peace), we were excited to try Fifth House. Unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations. The 'pork chop' was thin and impossible to cut into, so our only choice was to eat it with our hands. The cauliflower wings were spot on, and the whipped sweet potatoes were good, but the portion size of the 'calamari' appetizer was barely enough for one serving.

My husband and very squirmy 17-month old kiddo came here last night (coming from KC) and let me tell you - this was such a wonderful experience! The service was quick and so accommodating. The food was OUTSTANDING! Our kiddo devoured *EVERYTHING* from the mushroom calamari to the spaghetti beetballs to the alfredo… and yes, even the chocolate ice cream (their first time trying ice cream 😅). This is a must try spot!
