My husband and I used to eat here all the time. Don’t get me wrong we know the service has always been slow, but the last 2 times we waited over 15 mins at our table without any service not even water. The places was packed with 2 large parties and they only had 1 waitress. For the 2nd time my husband and I walked out. Unfortunately, we will not be back a 3rd time.?

order to a chicken chamanga and got a taco salad of course I drew it to the attention of the waitress I didn't order a taco salad I ordered a chimichanga she said that is our chimichanga I'm like no I've been here before that's not what a chimichanga looks like ? he said well that's what ours looks like I immediately refused it! Or did something else as I was starving. Smh

To go order .The enchiladas had no sauce cheese and onion enchiladas had no onions none of the food had lettuce or tomatoes, cheese enchiladas were rubbery ,I have never seen such a tiny tamale about a third of the normal size,nachos had only cheese and meat no jalapeños or anything else.,the cup of chili was about a half a cup. So disappointing since we have been eating here for over 40 years.

This place is awesome! I've been here many times since the mid 90s and it's always great! Clean facilities, friendly staff, amazing food. I always get the chili! Sometimes it's spicy and sometimes not so much but it's always delicious!Today I got the big bowl of chili and the toad taco. Both are excellent!

GI Forum is what I'd call the first wave of Mexican food in Omaha. Other examples are El Bee's, Romeo's and Fernando's.What they all have in common is a large quantity of fairly bland food with lots of cheese.There are so many other Mexican places now in Omaha, you'd be advised to go to the second and third wave restaurants. The first wave restaurants haven't changed their recipes since the 70s or 80s.
