To everyone who left a review above 2 stars, I’m quite surprised. I frequently go to Cafe Monster in the little plaza that this place was nearby and I wanted to try it. For starters, the atmosphere of the restaurant was good. When you walk in, the dining area is very clean and there’s a tv, but besides that, it’s pretty typical. I was greeted with good service and I was happy that my order was ready to go. That being said, maybe I should’ve realized sooner that the two deep freezers behind the counter would indicate that the food was probably just going to be coming from a frozen kit. The potstickers and bao buns had little specs of meat in the center when we expected them to be filled generously. And I wouldn’t say I’m some professional bao bun and potsticker connoisseur or anything, but seriously, why does it look like a processed bun with a spec of meat in the center. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing for what we spent here. I would much rather sacrifice quality of service for exceptional food quality, however, you get the opposite here. While the service was great, the food quality reflects my review. I have yet to dine inside, however, with my carry out experience, I most likely will not.

Hipbao is so lovely! I’ve been eating here for years now and they deserve so much more hype. They frequently throw in an extra dumpling to my order, offer free soup while we wait for our order, etc. and the people working are so sweet.

This is a review from the perspective of a Chinese family. The food is very average. My group came for dumplings, specifically, but left disappointed. With the current 4.6 star rating, we thought we were getting delicious, flavorful dumplings. The potstickers (fried dumplings) were okay but had the same value (or lower value) as takeout or frozen dumplings. The fried baos were bland, and they contained barely any meat. The noodles were quite flavorless even with the dumplings and sauce on the side. On the other hand, the service was great. The worker was very kind and gave us a free sample of spicy cucumbers. The actual atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet. There was no music in the background, making things quite awkward. The plates at the sauce station weren’t clean, but the actual restaurant itself was exceptionally clean.

i usually don’t take time to ever write a review but this dining experience at Hip Bao really just was above and beyond. I ordered the vegetarian vermicelli noodle and the vegetarian bao. the lady at the counter also added a free hot and sour soup. it definitely gave coming to visit grandma and its cold out so eat soup vibes and my heart absolutely melted. the noodles where phenomenal the ingredients all tasted so clean like everything was picked fresh this morning and the baos had me about in tears the soft breading had this subtle sweetness to them and the aromatics of the fillings just absolutely leveled them up. seriously 100/10 experience and i can’t wait to eat here again!

I think the food was ok. But the issue I had was that they charged me $2. I had takeout so I put no tip. But when I reviewed my credit card statement a few days later, I noticed that it was $2 more than my receipt. I will not be going back there.

This place is a must go if you like or want to try Asian cuisine. The service is amazing the lady working at the counter when we went in was phenomenal. The food was delicious and this is the first time in a long time I've gone into a restaurant where all of our food came out fresh and hot. Go and try some of these great dishes.

Bring cash and come back, the owners are wonderful the food is hot and fresh comes out quickly, and never disappointed. If you pay with cash you earn punches on a discount card. 10 bucks for a punch and with 10 punches get 10 bucks off. The Baos are great steamed or fried. The soups are awesome as well.

There's a reason my family keeps coming back to Hip Bao. When it comes to entrees, the noodle dishes are exceptional; my husband always orders the beef noodle soup, and I tend to get the Beijing pork noodles. The broth, meat, and noodles are all flavorful and abundant!
But let's be honest, we're all here for the dumplings! We haven't had a bad plate yet. The fried pork bao and the beef potstickers are both family favorites, and we always order the taro bao or red bean bao when we want something just a little bit sweet. And can we PLEASE talk about those earth-shatteringly crispy scallion pancakes? Heaven on earth.
