I had some classic sushi I never had before. Shitake and Negi Hamachi blew were better than I ever imagined. Sake was really good for the price too. I also nearly fell in love with the server after she agreed that classic more simple sushi are far better than the crazy contraptions people in the West come up with....

I went to Hiro last night for their all-day happy hour with my husband and a couple of friends. We had great service and the food was fantastic! We went in at six and were seated immediately, which was great! I ended up ordering the princess cocktail which was on happy hour pricing for $6 and it was delicious as always. I love the pineapple juice and the raspberry vodka together! For an appetizer we went with the classic crab Rangoon which did not disappoint. We decided to forgo an entrée this time and just go with sushi. We went with our favorites; The Hiro crunch, the Wasabi Stinger, the Husker Roll, and the Sweet Chili Crab.

Amazing service! The waitress we had was kind and attentive. It was slow the day we went but everything was clean, no sticky surfaces on the table, and the wait staff were friendly.

I visited the downtown Hiro 88 on Sunday lunch with my family. We enjoyed the seaweed salad and crab Rangoon appetizers and each got a 3 item bento box for lunch. The bento box also came with a salad or soup. I enjoyed the sesame dressing on the salad. For the bento box, I tried the beef teriyaki, salmon sashimi and spicy salmon roll. I would say that the sushi here was not impressive to me. The quality of the fish didn't taste very fresh. I liked the flavor of the teriyaki sauce but thought that the beef was not very tender. Our server was very friendly and was very timely with everything-she was great! Overall, I enjoyed the appetizers here, but came for sushi and was disappointed in the quality of the fish. I probably will not return for that reason.
Listen, I have to give a shout out to the staff that worked the evening of March 13th! It's not easy when there's an event in downtown Omaha and I think half the people attending Olivia Rodrigo were here. lol Our server was phenomenal! I didn't get her name, but as I looked around every staff member there was running their tail off to get orders and food out. I noticed a large group of “Karen's” behind my table complaining and it wasn't deserved. It's a shame that people can't read the room and have a little patience during large events or busy restaurant times. Great job Hiro 88!!

Took granddaughter for her first sushi experience...Was treated weirdly upon entrance.Ordered 3 types of rolls, and soup .Sushi was uneatable.Took it home to see if it was just us!3 different individuals spit it out too.I'm a regular here but no longer.Time to go back to the many other competitors.My granddaughter no longer will try sushi!Terrible experience with one of my 13 grandkids...

I stopped in this place towards closing time to grab some sushi. I was greeted by John, who was super friendly and outgoing. I asked him what his favorite 2 rolls were and he ended up telling me about 3 of them. I asked him to order me two rolls of his choice. One of the rolls that I particularly liked was the black pearl. It had a lot of great texture, lots of great flavor and just overall was a tasty roll. I will definitely be back to this place. Thanks John for the awesome service.

Went to Hiro before show at Orpheum. Last time we tried this was crazy and we barely made it to our seats before showtime. This was a much better experience. Food arrived quickly and cooked perfectly. We had time for a leisurely dinner and conversation.

It was so amazing especially because it was the first time eating out by myself. My waiter was so friendly. Great place for a first date or just a night out. I have no complaints. I don't remember the soup name just that is was hot and sour and I had the asparagus shrimp which was amazing.
