Amazing atmosphere. The building and decor alone is worth going there at least once. Unfortunately we were not blown away by the food. We ordered the salmon and ribeye and the salmon was dry . The ribeye was supposed to be medium rare but seemed closer to medium well. Everything was just ok. Service was alright but The hostess was really friendly and welcoming.
I do recommend checking this place out at least once for the atmosphere.

Oxtail were amazing, scalloped potatoes are good. We love their house Italian. The Apple Crisp was very tasty.

First trip and won't be the last! Dinner started with the cottage cheese spread and warm rolls. Hubby had the petite fillet, loaded baked potato and Caesar salad. Steak was perfectly cooked and tender. I had the sirloin, baked potato and Caesar salad. Great grilled flavor, perfectly cooked and tender. Service was attentive and very friendly. We loved the old school ambiance which includes old pics through the years. We will be back!

Great food, and service that was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. Can't really ask for more than that.

Johnny’s is an iconic gem that fully embodies an old school steakhouse experience. It’s a delicious time capsule that celebrates Omaha’s historical position as the country’s beef capital. Excellent food is backed up by attentive, friendly service and a retro ambience defined by dark wood and red leather seating. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and the house salad dressing was delicious. A must visit when in Omaha!

I'm giving Johnny's Cafe a 2 due the over price and low quality of food. Where Johnny's is located the outside smelt like manure (yes I understand they have no control of outside smell and can get over that part), the inside smelt musty (very much like a grandparents home that never opened a window). The server started off well and then went downhill, the server rushed us through our meal, also when we complained about our meal yes the reheated it but didn't offer any type of restitution after that. The manager did come over and stated that she hopes everything looks better and walked away.

Also they do ask us if we had a reservation. So I would recommend making one.

Amazing steak, stopped here algir lunch and was not disappointed. Portions are large and steaks are well cooked. The vegetables are bland, but I wasn't there for the veggies. Scalloped potatoes were also very delicious. A traditional style meal and home cooked feel with great service. Will definitely be back.

Each time we come to Johnny's it's with a bit of fear and trembling. Why? Certainly nothing that Johnny's did! It's just that our favorite neighborhood old-school steakhouses keep CLOSING on us. First it was Caniglia's, then Mr. C's, then Piccolo Pete's. We aren't sure if we jinxed those joints or what. But back to Johnny's! I was fortunate enough to have been treated to a birthday dinner here in July and once again fell in love with the place. From the appetizer to the dessert everything was spot on perfect. Long live Johnny's Cafe and folks...do support our locally-owned eating establishments. They need us a lot more than the national chains do, and the food is so much better!

Fantastic! Do not miss this charming supper club if you come through Omaha. I half expected a handome crooner to take to a 🎙 while we enjoyed cocktails. Its like stepping back into the 1950s/early '60s. Prime rib was tender and prepared as ordered. Soups and salad were terrific. Shared a piece of carrotcake after that was unlike any I'd ever had. Maybe more of a spice cake. Caramel sause drizzled over it. Fantastic. Excellent wine selection, too. Bravo! Loved it.
