Got recommended because I love Lao food. Tooooop notch! Great food! Lao style papaya salad and pad Thai has that seared flavor. Fairly certain they make their own sauce for the pad Thai. After years of making my own papaya salad, I would LOVE cucumber salad or beef salad made right. The Laab was great also!!! Well done in every way!

Never really dabbled in Thai Cuisine. Co-worker mentioned this place to me. Ordered the Mango Sticky rice and the drunken noodles, both with chicken. Absolutely delicious. I was severely impressed. I’m now a Thai food lover, will definitely be returning for more Thai food in the future and will try out other menu items. Great work Khao Niao 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

I travel for work, so I seek comforts when I can. This will be my new spot in Omaha.
I ordered the vegetarian spring rolls, and the Drunken Noodles(15 spicy)
The rolls were plump, crispy, and fresh.
They came with the usual peanut sauce. The owner brought out their house-made chili oil to mix with it...amazing heat level.
The Drunken Noodles are homemade, everything tastes fresh, and the service is wonderful.
I will be happy to return every time I visit Omaha.

We have been on the hunt for a good massaman curry since moving to Omaha. We finally found one that has all of the warm spices, is creamy, and has a generous portion of vegetables/meat. The Pad See Ew, Fruit Wontons, and Spring Rolls were all great as well. The peanut sauce is an honorable mention. Khao Niao had our food ready quickly (ordered take out) and everything tasted fresh! So excited to go again 🤗

Recommended dishes: Yellow Curry, Mango Sticky Rice, Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken, Fresh Spring Rolls 4, Basil Fried Rice, Thai Fried Rice, Shrimp Pad Thai
The food, the owners, the staff, the care. It's all 5/5.
Pad Thai: best I've tried, in Omaha or anywhere else. Sweet, savory, smoky, umami, and great portion sizes. It's just got it all.
Pad Kee Mao: Again, best I've tried in or out of Omaha. Just enough basil to taste, but it doesn't overpower the other flavors. Homemade noodles give a good chew and hold the sauce like a lost lover.
Fruit Rangoons: Pineapple ones were good, Mango ones were great, and the crisp, delicate wonton wrappers were light and airy without a gram of greasiness. The Homemade sauce brought a touch of sweet, a touch of sour, and just a dab of heat. It was good enough to eat by the spoonful...which happened.
The owners and staff were very pleasant. I don't know her name, but one of the owners went into detail about how meticulous she is about her recipes and the layering of flavor and care she puts into every dish. I believe it. The proof is on the plate.
I'll be back, and you should too.

We were looking for something light to eat on a Saturday afternoon and walked up to the door 4 minutes before closing time for the mid-afternoon and the lovely owner and cook so graciously welcomed us in. We had the most delicious meal i've ever had from an asian restaurant. Both she and her husband are very friendly and happy to see you. I had read that all the ingredients were fresh and not canned and it is so apparent in the taste of the meal. She even makes her own hot seasonings as well as peanut sauce and sweet and sour sauce with very exotic ingredients. The noodles are handmade from rice flour and other ingredients, but no gluten. I have never been so blown away by the quality of food that I experienced here in this simple asian restaurant, which is not fancy at all but the food speaks encyclopedic volumes

Restaurantji Recommends
As soon as we walked in, the owner was super nice and very helpful navigating the menu. We ended up getting the pad Thai and the drunken noodles. They did a good job customizing the spice level to our liking. I like it pretty spicy but my wife wants it a bit more mild and we were very happy with it. We will be back!

I recently moved to the Omaha area and was trying to find a restaurant that showcases some cuisine from Laos, when I found Khao Niao. The first time I visited, we ordered the Papaya Salad Lao Style, Pho, and Lad Na. Everything was full of flavor and delicious! It honestly reminded me of my mother's cooking! My spouse and I have been back numerous times and plan on becoming regulars here! I would highly recommend trying the food here!! They're a smaller restaurant and do a lot of take out, so there may be quite a wait, but I promise you that it's worth it!!
