La Buvette is an iconic restaurant in Omaha - a perfect spot for a quiet date. Very reasonably priced wine, tasty appetizers and absolutely delicious entrees.

Went in last night around 7 pm or so, waited around 10 minutes for a table which is fantastic for a walk in only restaurant. I pour my own water
I pour my own wine even though theres a 20 dollar corkage fee, i also pour my own beer.

I personally never heard the servers name, any introduction, he never asked us if we were celebrating or had been in before. He just said “what would you like”? Cool.

Charcuterie was good overall.
Me and another gentleman man both ordered the lamb sausages which were unbalanced. All four of us at the table concluded there was too much seasoning or floral herbs perhaps that made it taste soapy and not really like lamb. Of course my meal was left off the ticket somehow so i waited an extra 7-8 minutes for my food while everybody felt bad and kept offering me their dinner.

I probably saw my server touch the table a total of four times - drink order- whole order- set us late with appetizer plates- and then dinner qc which was late and brief. We had to get up and get up and get our own silverware. We had to ask a separate girl for our check since we hadn’t seen our server in so long.

The last time i came the food was better although service was very similar. Very slow, very seldom, you get up to get some of your own things and it doesn’t seem like it should be that kind of place.

If I lived in Omaha, I'd be in danger of visiting too often! I love the ambience. The wine menu is pretty extensive, and reasonably priced. My open faced sandwich was delicious. There are a lot of bottles of wine to explore, with other hard alcohol as well. I highly recommend checking this place out.

What an Omaha institution! What a wonderful bit of French-style dining! We LOVE La Buvette! When we visit Omaha, we always make a point of having dinner there. Goodness... I love how warm and crowded it is. This pre-Christmas tradition is worth waiting for every year. Of course, the food is wonderful, and the service is spot on despite the server-to-customer ratio. I'm sure ten thousand people see it as their special place. My partner and I are no different. A bientot!

We came for a late lunch. Cute, cute, cute place! Wine choices are excellent.

Their bread is out of this world! You will see the bakery if you trek the scary backstairs on the way to the toillets…definitely not ADA compliant, and they could have used a thorough bleach cleaner.

I had the ginger-pumpkin soup. It was lukewarm with barely a hint of ginger, and was more of a puree. The mixed meat and cheese plate was nice, but the size of a dinner plate for $28.

Hummus was yummy, but no pita or naan bread or chips. We had to ask our nice, but inattentive server, for more bread. Because it was lunch, we expected sandwiches on those phenomenal baguettes…nope.

Next door is their deli. It was equally as cute and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely grab some take out from the deli, and skip the restaurant.

Our bill was $68 before tip.

Wheelchair accessibility: Absolutely NOT! Many stairs!

2023 Update
The food is barely palatable. Still one of the best baguettes available Stateside. New staff in every position. I ordered the rabbit which came out as bone-in jerky on dry lentils. The overcooked duck was possible to swallow because of the natural fats and grease but the gelatinized polenta that accompanied it was fit for the trash. Both dishes were hardly room temp and closer to cold. I assume the cook warmed them up and then remembered to put my raclette in the broiler so they got cold while the raclette cooked. The raclette was palatable but arrived table side slightly above room temperature. I believe they forgot to bring it out and the dishes sat on the counter for a while. As the executive chef of my Denver restaurant, I understand the challenges that accompany the kitchen and expo system in place here but there are few excuses for the demise of the quality at La Buvette as I used to eat here 3-5 times a week for the nine years that I lived in Omaha. My condolences to Omaha. The coup de grace was my delightful Pinot Noir from Bourgogne and as always the bread.

I can't say enough great things. I love La Buvette. I've been coming here frequently for a decade and will not stop. Great food and good wine. Stop in!

Hair in my food and felt like I was shamed for having a drink at brunch 😬🫤

Waited for 15 mins to get a menu. Waited another 15 mins for someone to take our order. We walked out. Wait staff barely acknowledged us. Guess we must have been pariahs.

I've wanted to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. The dinning area flows out onto the patio for what I assume is just for the warmer parts of the year and the front of the restaurant is very open with much of the front opened up.
It would be hard to overstate how good the bread is here. This is the table bread they give out when you order food. There's a few different varieties, all fresh baked, served with good butter. This is not your standard fare as far as free bread goes, this bread is above and beyond the call of its duty.
The pumpkin soup I had was too notch, one of the best soups I've had in a while. Then came the beef bourguignon. I'm very fond of the classics and this was a excellent example of the dish. It's important when you go here to get as many things that you can dip bread into as possible because the bread is so good and they will bring you more... to some extent.

So so، had to fly out of town, wanted to have a bite before going to the airport...waited for 45 minutes and no sign of food...left without having any food.
Asked the waitress about how long waiting , she said they only have one cook and about 14 tables.
