Try the pumpernickel bread

we placed an order for several products for Easter 2024 for pickup on Saturday the day before Easter. when we arrived in the morning did not have the order and made some lame excuse about the bakers not baking enough. what kind of customer service is that? this business will fail.

If not inedible, definitely not enjoyable. We came for Paczkis and were beyond disappointed. They were very dry and had barely any filling at all. We bought a couple of turnovers as well and they were also dry and under filled. We were not told that anything was a day (or more) old but it sure tasted like it. We will not be returning to this bakery. I did give it two stars for atmosphere because the guy who took our order was friendly even if very scattered.Note: Video is only a few hours after buying them not days.

A good loaf of Lithuanian sourdough rye bread is a gift from God. living in Chicago, we used to enjoy great Lithuanian Ryebread from neighborhood bakeries. A delicate hint of sour, and a soft touch of light rye, with a fresh scent of caraway and onion..... it is a perfect loaf! Chewy, but still supple. they have mastered the craft. People living in Lithuania might be jealous! But such bakeries are rare, even in Chicago nowadays. we live here in California and there is nothing even close to what we remember. But luckily, this little gem of a bakery is making their incredible Lithuanian sourdough rye bread available via Goldbelly. if you are lucky enough to be standing in front of this bakery, run, don't walk inside and buy as many loaves as you have money for. They will freeze well, and they will be the best bread you have ever eaten. If you are not standing in front of it, do what I did. go to their website, and order by Goldbelly. I plan to do it for as long as they remain in business. This bread certainly makes a good sandwich if you slice it thin. But I prefer it toasted, with butter. Or better yet, smeared with Lithuanian farmers cheese that has bits of Caraway. The toast softens the cheese a bit, and you have a gooey treat! If you don't have such cheese (Andrulis is a good brand) consider a good creamy goat or even a simple cow's milk cream cheese spread from good ol' Philadelphia. Honestly, you can just eat it straight from. The loaf. Can't go wrong.

Get the Napoleon Torte. It is FANTASTIC. Their bread and cookies are pretty good also. I was told to get there around 2:30-3:00 pm if you want bread right out of the oven.

Stopped in to get one of their stellar tortes with my daughter and ended up having a cup of chicken noodle soup and some strudel for a quick afternoon snack. Everything was delicious, and the service was great. My daughter keeps asking when we can go back because everyone was so friendly. Thank you!

I live on the other side of Nebraska (way out West, by Wyoming) and any chance someone in my family is in Omaha, we come here. My mom is there now getting our favorite bread, Lithuanian Sourdough Rye (we have called it Black Bread since we were little), and Bacon Buns for me if they have any today, plus anything else that tickles her fancy. My German Grandmother introduced this to us and would be lost without it. Love you guys!!!

My grandmother worked here about 30 years ago and we enjoyed the apricot torte whenever we visitedI’m sooo happy that this place is still there and I got my apricot torte and a fresh loaf of sourdough rye bread

Such a sad experience. again. The place is so dirty, I would love for the glass to be cleaned so one could actually see what's in the cold cases. The pastry we purchased was at least 1-2 days old - but was not labeled as such. We found out the hard way when we tried eating it at home. The female employee had dirty clothes on and displayed such poor attitude that, after a few attempts, we choose to no longer trying to engage her in a conversation. I guess she maybe just didn't want to be there. We are always for supporting small businesses and buying local, but this was just too bad of an experience.

I haven't eaten anything before, but my grandmother has. We got apple dumplings and kuzkas(I'm not sure how to spell that) and we both got diarrhea, and bad tummy aches. She also said the cleanliness in the establishment was not maintained. They were really good! Dont get me wrong but my cousin , my grandma, my aunt and uncle all got sick...
