I am so glad this place is back open. This is a true gem in Omaha.

I was excited to support Ratskeller in Omaha after discovering them through the German American Society, but I’m now quite disheartened. They recently posted an AI-generated logo for Bockfest—without even proofreading it. Amused by the AI nonsense text, I left a lighthearted comment: "Gergfar Fstva!"

Later, I noticed they had "Photoshopped" out the AI-generated text, but when I tried to find my comment to show a friend, I discovered I had been blocked! I was genuinely surprised by such a reaction to an innocent and playful remark. I had hoped to support this establishment more, but this experience changed my mind. Gergfar Fstva!!!

EDIT: In response to the owner, I am amending my review. Do you have a copy of my original comment? Since I’m blocked, I can’t retrieve it, but I recall mentioning the AI-generated logo and using the AI text as a playful cheer. I was genuinely shocked to be blocked over something so trivial.

Ironically, I even attended your Bockfest with the German American Society after the St. Patrick’s Day parade, completely unaware I had been blocked. I even paid $18 for a beer.

As for my experience as a customer, I had a wonderful time with my mates and thought the goats were a nice touch. However, the extremely long wait to get a beer at 12 PM on a Saturday was frustrating. If you're going to host an event, I strongly recommend having more than one cashier at the bar.

*I must give credit to AI polishing up the text of my review.

I wanted to love this place, I really did. Boyfriend had been there before they closed. He was excited to see what they had. He loves German beer and I love pretzels. Should have been a slam dunk. Lady running the shift was extremely rude. Not only to staff but to customers as well. Felt bad for the chick making my drink. Only a few beers actually from Germany on tap. If you get a German style beer from here or if you get a German style beer from Germany, you're going to pay the same price... A lot of what they have. You can buy an entire pack for cheaper than one pour. At the end of January they still had three Oktoberfest beers on tap. However, the food was delicious, over priced. But it is very good. We tried it, not sure we will really go back. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If I heard my daughter's manager speak to her the way that shift lead spoke to the gal making my drink. I would let her know it's time to put her 2 weeks in to find a new job. She stopped her in the middle of making my drink after 21 questions, had her get a free refill for somebody, reprimanded her in front of customers before she let her finish my $10 drink. Not playful banter at all. I'm sorry that in reviewing the tape that you didn't see a problem with any of that.
I witnessed her speak to two other groups of customers rudely and she spoke rudely to myself and my boyfriend as well.
I would not consider any of it playful banter.
As a customer it was alarming.

Nikki gave us a fantastic experience. Alongside Halie we had a wonder experience learning about beers and enjoying a wonderful time at Rathskeller Bier Haus. Would highly recommend to anyone to visit!

Went in right after work. It was very inviting. The new owner was there running the bar. He was very polite, speedy, and knowledgeable about his bier. Brats and were awesome. All around, good time. Can't wait to go back and try a reuben.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to give what was one of my favorite hangouts in Omaha a poor review... Rathskellers! Before their closing it was freaking awesome! Delicious food, great atmosphere and superb staff in a fun and friendly place.
My BF and I were ecstatic when we found out they were back! It was a Thursday about a week ago we decided to meet up after work!
I was looking forward to an ice Cold Fairy Nectar- they no longer have it 😞.
So we moved pay that and got excited about ordering some amazing food... Unfortunately, the meat was nearly burnt, they forgot to add cheese to our pricey charcuterie board, now I don't mind paying higher prices the amazing food, this was not... The pretzel was the best thing that came out.
The service... Was astonishingly poor.
I wish I could say our experience was phenomenal.
Unfortunately not.
I hope we decide to give them another try, but I doubt it will be anytime soon.
Sorry my favorite...I pray our next time is better.

Haven't tried the food since they reopened but it looked and smelled great. The beer selection and atmosphere are still top notch.

We lived in Germany for three years, and I really wanted to love this place. I hope that it will get better as they get going again. The dishes have German names, but it isn't like the food in Germany. We will go back again though. Don't give up on the Rathskeller!

As close to a real German beer hall you can find in Omaha! Paulaner beers on tap plus local brews. Crowd has wide range of ages, and family friendly.

Omaha avoided the winter weather blast so my wife and I decided to check out the soft opening of the new Rathskeller. There’s more of an emphasis on German food than with the previous version, which is a plus (at least for me). With Gerda’s closing, it’s hard to find German food so Rathskeller moving in this direction I think is a great plus for the city. German beer options were plentiful and there’s a cocktail menu / liquor options if a draught isn’t your thing. Really happy that this place has reopened and am optimistic that people will enjoy this version even more. Definitely hitting it up again!
