Food is great, but inconsistent. One week you get beer cheese as a side, the next week it’s movie theater nacho cheese. You never get the same thing twice even though you’re ordering the same thing.

Parking: You would think that because UNMC renovations would make it a nightmare, it wasn't. Fairytale parking and plenty of it.

Struggling between a 3 or 4 overall rating, went with the 3. Food was mostly good, chicken sandwich was just okay. No table service, but there was plenty of friendly help, so bar service was good. Men's bathroom only accommodates 1-2, very rare I have to wait for the men's bathroom at any establishment. Even a problem on a slow night. Band starts at 730pm and they made rounds to collect for a $10 cover charge from the patrons that were sitting outside eating. Everyone except their 7 groupies went inside. I was there to talk with my son and enjoy a few German beers in the nice weather, not to hear the band especially for a $10 charge. Based on the exodus, I would say all but the groupies felt that way. Beer is a little on the warm side, but they have a great selection inside. If you are sitting outside there is a very limited selection, which means a long walk to the inside bar. We spent $90 for 3 sandwiches and 6 beers excluding tip. A bit on the high side, especially when taking into account there is no table service. I might return, but only on a slow non-band night.

We had an experience that left us shocked and severely disappointed. It was obvious this place treated us differently, and we wouldn’t want anyone else to have to go through that, too. It was clear that we were not welcome as an interracial couple. Steer clear!

Get the Reuben, the Jäger charcuterie board, and a 1L lager. Live your best life. However, we were there during the time that we were the only customers there, but we still weren't impressed by the service.Vegetarian options: Had a vegan würst. Very good, highly recommend.

Poor service. Overpriced Oktoberfest. Rude waitresses. No German music for Oktoberfest-they had a rock band? Think we'll stick to those that know how to honor real Oktoberfest-German American, Barchen and Crescent Moon!

Nothing has changed. The beer is still barely cold, but the food - terrible. The wurst was served (after 35min wait ) on American sweet bun with a bag of chips?!?! When we asked for sauerkraut it came out in a small cup with CINNAMON on it! The music was 30 min late and poorly amplified. Not worth it! Get your brats and krait from Stoysich and have a beer on your deck.Ruben sandwich has taken over an hour!

I love German food, and this place is on point. The service is always top-notch, and they always have a nice menu to choose from. Plus having a ton of German beers on tap is always a positive. I usually go with one of their bratwurst, and their beer cheese soup is a must order item. My wife and I keep saying we're going to visit for Oktoberfest, and it's on our calendar for this year for sure. You should definitely check this place out!

Had to basically serve ourselves not sure if the supposed GM would of acknowledged us had i not Stood at the bar after being seated for several minutes. Usually welcoming staff disappointed. Understand restaurants are under staffed but a simple acknowledgement of patrons in your establishment would be helpful especially from management.

We’re back and the help is as friendly as ever -not! Doesn’t know her beers, that’s pretty sad for a “German Bar”. Selection is also very limited today. My husband commented on whether the service would be friendlier before we came here again today, well the answer is a resounding no!Atmosphere is meh, but it’s middle of the afternoon on a holiday weekend, so I’ll give a pass for that. The beergarden is nice, but we’re the only ones here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here, but the food wasn't quite as good as we hoped. Everyone working was very friendly, and our dog got lots of pets, but we were disappointed in the food. There are a dozen things on the menu we would love to try, but as it of towners our experience was limited. We each got a "wurst". While the sausage itself was good, no complaints, it just wasn't anything that can stand out. They came with a side of a bag of chips, nothing you couldn't buy at the store. The indoor and outdoor offerings for drinks were different, which made it difficult since you had to pay separately or have a tab each place. It was a nice place to hang out for a bit, but not somewhere we'd go out of our way to revisit.

We hosted a casual private event with about 80 people & a band in Rathskellar’s back patio. The area is awesome with the perfect number of picnic tables balanced with open space and some fun yard games. They even let us stay later than originally booked because our guests were having such a blast! They weren’t able to give me a menu for drinks in advance but there were plenty of options with beer, cocktails, etc. and two bartenders. We felt it was very reasonably priced to rent the venue and were able to put our budget into drinks and DELICIOUS food (which were also reasonable in price). They also let us bring in our own cake. The booking process is a bit informal (no contract) and all communication was done by email but sometimes I felt like a nuisance reaching out. They are a very relaxed venue and so was their customer service in the planning phase. They seem to be working on being more of an organized event space, but it’s still a bar with a rentable area and planners should keep that in mind. I think if you want to plan a simple event in a cool space, it’s a great and affordable venue! We had a fantastic time!
