Our first visit to Saffron Urban Indian Kitchen was amazing. My son and I visited for lunch and we could not have been happier with the food and the service we received.
Always a fan of the atmosphere here. Think intimate/comfy-cozy with nicely done mood lighting. I've been here many times over the last 3yrs of being in Omaha and have always had a great meal. The cauliflower chicken is my go to. They will bring out one bowl of rice with the meal, but if you need more, just ask. I always have left overs when I eat here. Recently tried the steak kabob and was not disappointed! Delicious!
I always come here on my days off and get the lunch special, food is always great!! Today I had Maria as my server and she was super nice and attentive but truly everyone here is always super nice and welcoming and they will help explain menu items to you if you’re not familiar, I’ve never had a negative experience here and it’s why I keep coming back, you should definitely stop by if you’re ever in Aksarben or Omaha area! Bottomless chai is always really good too! This is the first place I ever tried Indian food and I’ve loved it ever since <3

The service was exceptionally accommodating. The waitstaff had helpful suggestions and was attentive, welcoming, and friendly through the evening. The food was delicious, attractively served, and enough for leftovers at home. (And the take home containers were stout, clear plastic - so much nicer than typical containers at other restaurants!) An outstanding experience!
Delicious dishes. Impeccable service. Happy hour can’t be beat.

The atmosphere upon entering the restaurant was truly beautiful. Although the energy was subdued, I recognize the strain of long shifts and personal lives outside of work, but I do not bring that attitude into the workplace. The waitstaff appeared unhappy and uninterested. When my food arrived, I ordered vegetables samosas, which were outstanding, and jalapeño popper naan, also delicious. However, the main entrée, chicken biryani, was unacceptable. It seemed hastily reheated, with large pieces of chicken that were dry and difficult to cut—by far the worst biryani I have ever had. The waitress dismissively ignored my concerns, and I observed another waitress staring at me and giving me unfriendly looks. Although she removed the entrée from my bill, this experience confirms I will not return.

We love this place, it is such a treat. My fiancé and I always look forward to date nights here, the food is impeccable and the atmosphere is so cozy. The music is so relaxing and the furniture makes you just want to sink in and enjoy. I always get the Kiwi Mojito, the Curried Salmon with soup and Garlic Naan, it is so filling and always leaves me wanting to take a nap. We always have leftovers, so the meal will be a midnight snack! The servers are so nice and we always feel so welcome.

I’ve always been a picky eater. But when my girlfriend brought me here, it became my favorite restaurant. From the atmosphere to the service. This place is so inviting. The food is delicious.

The food quality has gone completely downhill. The Chicken Biryani was basically mushed fried rice with no layering and had no trace of caramelized onions — a fundamental element of any good biryani. The presentation by sealing it with dough feels gimmicky when you miss the fundamentals of biryani. Chicken Tikka Masala was also disappointing — extremely dry, with oversized chicken breast pieces. Naan tasted stale & reheated. Overall I got the feeling they are taking shortcuts on food and quality. While the ambience and atmosphere were great, the food was a major letdown & not worth the price tag. I left disappointed with night ruined and regretting my visit.

The rice dishes in the clay pot were HUGE with more rice than protein so plan on sharing. The korma dishes were more flavorful to me and very good. Highly recommend those and the beef samosa. We ordered the fried lentil for someone who is GF but it was basically a cracker.
