Great local Thai restaurant! Food was fabulous!

Vegetarian options: You can choose to add meat to any of the dishes or simply keep them vegetarian.

Parking: There are a few restaurants near each other but you could still find a parking spot.

We have always loved ordering from here. This time we dined in with my husband and I along with our toddler. It took 50 minutes to get our food. Unfortunately with DoorDash/uber eats/take out orders, I feel they stretch themselves too thin and the customers dining in suffer.

Blah blah...

Ordered again and was charged. Food NEVER SHOWED UP.
Had to contact grubhub for refund as these people wouldn't answer their phone.
Edit: I’ve been to and had this restaurant deliver several times since my first review.
It’s amazing and I’m now positive there was some sort of mishap.
I’d delete but want others to know this place is worth a try!

Food - The only words I can use to describe it are positive, it is by far the best Thai place I've been too, all things I ordered and that were ordered by my group were absolutely amazing, the options on your spice level, everything about it was amazing, my pad Thai was delicious and I had absolutely no critiques. My dish has a large main course helping, along with a generous portion of bean sprouts, and I also got a Thai Tea, the bean sprouts were delicious and the Thai Tea is the best drink I've had in a long time! It was very affordable for Thai food and very fairly priced for the serving size, my meal was $13 with a $2 charge for shrimp, and my drink was $5. Overall an amazing meal and I can't hype it up enough!

Service - Very good! Our server was fast, friendly, and very helpful on recommending dishes, she was quick to answer any questions we had about the food and ingredients.

Atmosphere - Lovely, it was quiet with some nice music in the background, people used lower voices, the employees weren't yelling or anything, and just the aesthetic was beautiful. Even if the food wasn't delicious I'd consider coming back just for the building!

Vegetarian options: There are many many dishes that have options to be made vegetarian or vegan.

Dietary restrictions: There are clearly labeled dishes that can be made gluten free.

Parking: Large parking lot, though can be quite full since it is shared with other locations.

Kid-friendliness: It is very kind friendly with classic children options (chicken tenders etc.) and options for them to have Thai food in smaller portions, to try

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, big doorways, overall accessible!

Despite the waiting for the food, everything else was good. You must try the Thai Tea, Tom Yum, and Shrimp in Blanket ??

I tried Salween Thai for the first time earlier this year - I got takeout for lunch. I chose Salween because I was excited to see they had pineapple fried rice on their menu - it lived up to my expectations, LOVED it!! I have been back several times since then for both lunch and dinner. I have never eaten at the restaurant (only takeout). Even with getting the food to go, it is still always fresh and hot once I'm ready to eat. Delicious! I chose Chicken with the pineapple fried rice, but you can also choose beef, pork, shrimp or tofu.

I also really enjoyed the samosas - and also liked the fried wontons (the fried wontons came with a translucent yellow sauce - I did not try the sauce but I was expecting the same red sweet & sour type sauce that comes with the samosas).

We recently tried the mango fried rice with chicken as well. This was also great! I could not see the mangos, but the taste was definitely there. (I felt there could have been a little more chicken - I could only find a couple very small pieces, while the pineapple fried rice had lots!)

As for spice level, if you don't like spicy go with a zero! I like mild to medium spice and a 3 had me sweating a tiny bit. Spice level 4 was good, but would not be my go to everytime. But good news if you like things spicy, they go up to spice level 10 (which I can't imagine).

So glad I tried Salween!! I will definitely continue order from here!

It’s too bad that this food is so good because the Maple St location doesn’t answer the phone for takeout orders. I’ve had to call dozens of times to get an answer and sometimes they simply pick up and hang up. I know that sounds like a 1-sided opinion but we’ve sat in the restaurant before and watched it happen….phone just rings and rings for minutes and people then just hang up. They are so busy you’d think they’d figure out to hire someone to just sit there and answer the phone….but again the food is good so they are busy and don’t care. The Saddle creek and Pacific St locations are much more customer friendly. I called 10 times today and got hung up on twice. I give up and am going to another place

Very expensive for what you get - very small portions (super skimpy on the rice for curry dishes, even if the heart is cute) and spiced poorly. Even if we order a spice level of 2 out of 10 for pad thai, it's unbearably spicy. This has happened multiple times in our experience. My brother in law ordered a 5 out of 10 and it was not spicy at all - less spicy than spicel level 2 of 10 entrees. They also never asked what protein to include in my Massamun Curry and I got literally 3 pieces of brocoli and a few carrots and potatoes for $13-14. To top it off, I tried the mango sticky rice and poured the coconut milk on the rice and the smell was horrible - like wet cat food. Tasted it and it was BAD. I've never had this experience before. We threw away our second order of it. We spent $200+ for our family's meal and only 2 of the 5 entrees were spiced correctly and the dessert seemed spoiled. I would've sent it back if we had dined in, but we did takeout and do not live close by.

Overall, this was a disaster and very, very disappointing. Total waste of money - I feel bamboozled. Wouldn't recommend any more. Am considering contacting the owners at this point. This was their worst showing in our years of patronage.
