Smoking Jay’s BBQ is a must-try for anyone looking for amazing BBQ catering in Omaha, NE! Our company ordered lunch for a group of 30 people, and the entire spread was unforgettable.
We enjoyed the brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, baked potato salad, baked macaroni and cheese, and cornbread with honey on the side. Every bite was full of flavor! The brisket was tender and smoky, the pulled pork was perfectly seasoned, and the mac & cheese tasted just like something homemade—rich, cheesy, and comforting.
A surprise standout was the baked potato salad—creamy, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the barbecue. And let’s talk about the baked beans: hands down, a 10/10. Sweet, savory, and full of depth—they were a favorite.
The cornbread was a little a tad dry, but the sweetness came through nicely, and having honey on the side allowed everyone to drizzle as much as they liked—great touch!
Both the regular and spicy BBQ sauces were hits, and we loved that there was something for every palate. Other departments at our company had ordered from Smoking Jay’s before, but this was my first time—and now I completely understand the rave reviews. I’ll absolutely be adding them to our go-to catering list for company lunches, meetings, and special events.

Today was my first day trying smokin jays, and the food was too expensive for the lack of flavor. I paid $32 dollars for mediocre food, and they charge you extra for items without your knowledge until you receive the receipt. Would definitely not be my first choice of BBQ.

Seems like a small family owned business, very good food. I got the beef rib sandwich and it hits the spot,with the meat fall off the bone . The jays potatoes were a like pan fried potato covered in cheese, not burnt but crispy. 10/10 must try. Easy access from the Henry Doorly Zoo.
