We were visiting from out of town and wanted a soul food dinner. We weren’t familiar with the area or the parking and nothing was clearly marked. Once inside the hospitality was present. There was a guy working at the front who let us sample the chicken wings. They were delicious and the food smelled good. However, there were no prices posted anywhere. My spouse asked the owner and he says he weighs the items for pricing and rambled off chicken, pork chops and fish cost this by the pound. We’re assuming he’s speaking of meat options only, but he weighs your entire meal based on the weight of whatever meat you choose. Confusing right…and also overcharging folks in the process (my opinion). I didn’t see any reviews that spoke of price before going so use this review as a guide. The food was tasty, however, beware of the pricing before ordering. And no, we won’t go back if visiting Nebraska again.

I am someone who was born and raised in the south so I know “southern” cooking and this ain’t it. This place serves southern dishes but it’s not southern cooking. I ordered the fried pork chops with yams and collard greens. Gumbo and cornbread with an order of wings. The pork chops were hot/fresh and the yams were sweet. Nothing else had a taste. I was shocked that the gumbo had NO SEASONING!! Literally no taste at all! I trashed it! Money wasted! No issues with the service or price ⭐️⭐️⭐️ We can pay for what we want!
To the person relying to customer reviews constantly making the statement “if you’re on a budget” that’s an inappropriate response to anyone who took the time to give your restaurant their money. So what if their experience was not the best; you should remain professional! Wishing your business success!!
All the food is weighed which came to my surprise. The oxtails tasted like neck bones and the rice was half cooked. The yams tasted like canned yams for which were disgusting. The fish wasn't fried hard as I requested, I honestly could have done a better job making my own fish. The atmosphere was the only thing (inside) that I liked. I won't be returning I paid $45.00 for a meal I didn't finish because of the quality and taste that I did not like. A waste of my money. Never again.

Ordered some fried chicken wings, fried porkchops, fried fish and oxtails with sides...so pretty much a little bit of everything since it was our first time trying it. It was a bit busy and the girl looked like she was ALL over the place, which made the whole experience uneasy, so I'd suggest more staff(not 2 people). The oxtails were all mush from the bottom of the pan and that was a red flag for me off the bat. I had to ask the lady to give me a oxtail that was still intact because she was just going to keep giving me all the gravy on what seemed like 3 tablespoons of white rice. Everything is weighed, so the portions for the $ amount can be a bit pricey...especially when they give you the cabbage or greens with lots of juice (I had to ask the girl to drained the juice out because if not i would've been paying for soup) The best thing there were the wings.

This place is way overpriced. An oxtail dinner is $35 while it's $25 everywhere else. The sides are stingy. Not a very good portion at all. Flavor was ok nothing special.

Food is way to overpriced and why is there no prices posted?? Then i asked for a 2 ox tails on my order and only got 1. The sides are lack luster and the ox tails had barley any seasonings. I said no tip and got charged 15 dollars worth of tip after saying no. I got home without a ox tail and i called and got told that i was only charged for what i got over and over again. Total price 94.66!! Lastly why on The receipt it doesn't say what we purchased. My family loved the catfish but everything else was unacceptable. Wish y'all well.
It's gonna take time to get fish or mac and cheese but it's worth it! Clean spot, nice people!
